The bottom line is...your having a hard-time dealing with the fact that Jones, even at the age of 40, has much more talent than Green of any age...get over it, POOFTER!!!:yep

    OH BULL**** !!!

Does that mean that all those Chinese swimmers and East German olympians that didn't get caught should be considerd derserving champions ? Or what about the guy that gets a perscription from his doctor without knowing it contains an illegal substance?

    Either the issue is;

    a) atheletes that gain an unfair advantage by deliberately using illegal, performance enhancing drugs are disgraceful cheats regardless whether they get busted.

    OR

    b) If you test positive regardless of the reason you should have a permanent black mark next to your name. Even if it's from a cold and flu medication, a botched commercial formula or a recreational drug including marajuana, there's no excuse. BUT if you don't get caught, even if there's major suspicion, then you are in the clear.

You can't have it both ways, it's one or the other.

The simple fact is that RJJ did not willfully engage in the purchase or/and use of a banned substance for personal gain.

He failed a test against a banned substance... It's not like it's a surprise, plenty of elite boxers have been done down the years...

Mate, I'm of the opinion that in his prime RJJ was one of the greats but the facts are that the abilities and natural gifts that made him great are the very tools of the trade that have been in decline for some time.

All his life he has fought using his speed and reflexes, allowing him to fight in his own unorthadox style but once he slowed he found that this style has become his greatest flaw.

It's why he got brutally KO'd twice whilst attempting to slip the shots as he backed onto the ropes.

An interesting fact to this fight is that Danny Green will be the biggest guy RJJ has ever faced with the exception of Ruiz. Apart from Ruiz only Tarver is taller than Green but he didn't have the weight advantage that Green will use in his attempt to knock out RJJ for the third time.

Another interesting factor is that for the first time RJJ faces the disadvantage of fighting in the southern hemisphere. It will be interesting to see how his body clock handles fighting at 10pm Sydney time....which is the equivilent of fighting in Florida at 5:00am !!!

You make an excellent arguement...but I still have to say RJJ's speed is obviously slower, however still fast enough to give Green something to think about. I'm giving Danny a punchers chance, but think RJJ is still fast enough to evade Greens attack. I wish them both good luck and hope it's a good show!!!

Have you ever used powder or liquid supplements ?

If you have (like many of us here) I want you to name every ingredient found in each of them......:huh

I was at my physical peak in the 90's and back then almost every professional athelete used multiple types of supplements through fear of relinquishing the advantage to the opposition. These suplements were continuously being updated and "improved" to keep up with advancement in technology, with the magic potion coming out of every ****ing laboratory known to man on a regular basis.

On more than one occassion certain brands were recalled after it was found that the mixture was "contaminated" by ingredience found on the national register of prohibited substances. While these ingredience were banned for use in sports they were not illegal to purchase or even to import from countries like Russia or China and for this reason many professional atheletes had already used the supplements consistantly over decent periods of time before the recall was offically received.

It wasn't until much later on that atheletes were better educated regarding banned substances in supplements but there will always be something new that comes along and pushes the boundaries of that which is considered acceptable, as everyone is searching for that little advantage over the competition.

    * FACT: Kostya Tszyu blamed bad imported supplements as part of the reason he lost to Vince Phillips in 1997. He also admits to taking caffine tablets during his career, something that has recently been identified as a growing problem in junior sports along with misuse of asthma inhalers and caffine drinks.

I understand what you're getting at, but he failed a test mate. It was a banned substance. Kostya can blame whatever he wants. Vince owned him that night. Bad supplements don't stop head movement...or Phillips' right hand.
