Didn't Hopkins recently say the fight probably won't happen because Arum doesn't really want it? He thinks a Mosley vs Floyd showdown happens, and Pac fights Yuri Foreman. Then a mega fight between Pac vs the winner of the Shane vs Floyd fight (Assuming Shane beats Berto).

Everybody was talking how "It's a done deal. 1st of May." What happened, I haven't heard anything about it since then? Done deal, or wishful thinking?

I agree, but at the same time we all heard from every big boxing name (Bert Sugar, Teddy Atlas, etc) that "It's a done deal." I've heard zero announcements, and just nothing on the matter.

    What's the deal?

Well given the amount of people around the negotiating table who post here Im sure we'll get a definitive answer to the question (sarcasm)

I cant see it not happening, too much money

Big fights have not transpired when it made all the business sense. With Floyd, you never really know.

Basically, all the "It's a done deal" was just bull****.

Never believe what one of the postroom boys tells you about what's happening at the top of a company.

Pac-Mayweather will do 3-4million buys, its that big. A Mayweather-Mosley probably does 1.5million buys, Pac-Foreman wouldnt do over 800k because Foreman is average a JMM fight does below 1million buys.

Both Mayweather and Pacquaio are at the end of their primes, it needs to happen now, neither man can make near the same money elsewhere and if either lose the big money is out the window, both know it

I still think Floyd vs. Pacquiao is next.

Edit: Financially, historically, etc., nothing else comes even CLOSE to making as much sense.

The only thing in the way of this fight is Arrum wanting to manage both fighters so he can rip both their purses off. Thats why we got Pacquaio-Cotto

I don't, but it's interesting after hearing about a basically "Done deal."

Is their a done deal, and are we waiting for an announcement. It sounds at the least that the chance of the fight not happening is still a live one, at least for now.
