Out of shape? Yes 30-40lbs above his fight weight? Yes 260lbs? Most likely 330lbs? BOLLOX Old timers just as full of **** as todays fighters? ABSOLUTELY
I have seen this before. Pretty cool that Jeffries dad told him as a boy he'd make another John L Sullivan. There is also Jeffries sparring with Ryan, and Jeffries pounding the heck out of a heavy bag. Jeffries hits the bag like Sonny Liston! Both are must sees, however the owners won't sell the footage anymore out of fear their prized investment will end up on you tube.
Look at the contours between the top of Jeffries head and his cheeks. This was a guy whyo walked the street at 250 while he was champion and aparently looked in shape. We could of course, argue about his weight until we were blue in the face. Look at that photo and consider that he was in that shape between the two fights. Also consider that my credentials as a Johnson fan are secure.
It was an exageration, hes clearly 260lbs tops in those pix, boxers and people around them exagerate all the time, have you seen a 330lb man, no way is that man near that weight, and if he was he wouldnt get down to 230. He was past prime but coming down from 330lbs was a ready built excuse for a fight that he ideologically wasnt allowed to lose
76 rounds vs Danny Needham, lasting over 5 hours, all for the payday of six hundred dollars. :good Danny Needham had previously gone 100 rounds (6+ hours) against Patsy Kerrigan. Ryan was 20 years old at the time the fight was held.
He looks freakin huge compared to any other photo ive seen ,i could believe 300 pounds, come on his pants are about to tear frome the treetrunk thighs
I never saw any photo where he was THAT fat, not the footage of him on the tracktor w Corbett, no photos, nothing ... I feel he was always well below 300 ...
In that photo where he's refereeing Burns and Squires, Jeffries looks easily 300 pounds, and at the very least 280+ And I have no idea what the squabble is about, and not interested in pushing any sort of agenda.
