Pac should go 48-52, but then insert a $2M per lb. overweight clause

Maybe Team Pacquiao should agree to a 48-52 or 51-49 split in favor of Mayweather, but add a clause that will cost Floyd $2 or $3 million for every pound he weighs in over a catchweight of 145.

That way, Mayweather's unable to pull the bull**** he pulled on Marquez, while de facto making it a 50-50 fight if Floyd violates the terms of the deal.

Two problems. Number 1, there won't be a catchweight. Number 2, no way in hell would Floyd agree to a $2 mill per lb. penalty even if there where a catchweight.

If I was Pac I would insist fight to take place at 145 with 50-50 split, and that for every lb excess there is $2-$3 million fine. Otherwise I wouldn't take the fight. Floyd would agreed to the terms to get his big paycheck.

I think it will be 50/50 on the purse. Anything else and the fight will not happen. Forget about the penalty for going over the catchweight because I think this will be a true WW fight w/ 147 as the limit.

if its 48-52, floyd would accept this, weigh-in at 146 and just pay the $4M fine to gain as much size advantage as possible.

No more catch weights the Pac/Cotto fight was so one sided after the 4th round that there was no need for a catch weight in the first place and it's not like Floyd is a big/natural welterweight himself so lets hope all this catch weight garbage is done away with.

if they agreed at a catchweight of 144 just like the jmm fight and weighed 146 and just paid it off, you can say that.

Wouldn't Pac be more in the wrong for demanding a 144 lb. catchweight in a fight where he is coming in as a WW champion, and when he is ranked by most ahead of Floyd at WW?

my opinion on this is he should throw the WBO belt and ask for a 145 catchweight. yes he beat cotto but that doesn't mean he is a natural welter already. he just beat cotto because he is a great fighter. they are trying hard to maintain the weight by feeding him more and he still weighed 144. imo, 140 is still pac's natural weight as of the present and fighting a great fighter like floyd would require a fair weight which is 145. besides floyd will get more credit beating pac at 145 than at 147.

But Floyd is not a big welterweight himself and Floyd is also a natural 140 pounder and it's not like Floyd re-hydrates up to 160 after the weigh in so this catch weight **** needs to stop. If Pac wants to come down to 144 or 145 he should do that but he and his team shouldn't force others to do that as well.

Pac walks around in the 150's. He admitted as much himself. He's a WW champ, he's ranked ahead of Floyd at WW, he's 2-0 at WW, and he's ranked ahead of Floyd in the p4p rankings. Given all this, he shouldn't need a catchweight against Floyd if he is indeed a great fighter, and not simply a good fighter cherry picking bigger guys who were at a huge stylisitc disadvantage against Pac. I happen to think Pac is a great fighter, which is why the catchweight is not needed. Floyd will get the same amount of credit regardless of the weight. Pac's win will be tainted if it's a close win that took place at a catchweight.

if he is a natural 140 pounder, he could challenge pac at 140 where the stake is much higher and pac is lineal. besides if he is that currently small, why didn't he make at least the 144 pounds when he fought jmm?
