Updating the ESB Rankings at the moment. Who should be nubmer 1 at Super Middle Ward, Bute or Froch.

    Difficult one.

If you're going on resume it's probably Froch, but I don't think he is.

Froch. Got to be really now. I dont think he's the best or will last at No.1 by any means but you'd have to say considering the belt and his last 3 wins he's top at the mo

Bute: undefeated, beaten Andrade twice, Bika, Berrio (sp?), Tatsevoyan, IBF titlist to boot.

Ward, as impressive as he looked in his last two, has beaten Kessler and Miranda - a guy who hasn't achieved anything at SMW, and looked crap ever since Pavlik knocked him out. He's a dead cert top three guy.

Froch is number four at best, beneath Bute, Ward and Kessler.

Bute has beaten no one credible at world level. Andrade is famous for once having a fight with Kessler. OMG he beat Berrio and Bika.

    Ward deserves amazing credit.

Froch has one better win though but I think when they meet Ward will win.

Bute is not near top 5.

Ok, Mazallan, what five people do you seriously rate above Bute at SMW?

Not in any order but Abraham, Froch, Ward, Kessler and Dirrel. Bute is a good champ but until he fights someone of the level of the guys I mentioned he will always be an outsider. Not saying he could not go onto beat some top fighters but until he actually shows ambition it is hard to rate him.

How can Bute be #1? It's the dumbest thing ever. He hasn't beaten a top fighter. What happens if he steps in the ring with Kelly Pavlik as is rumoured and Pavlik puts a lot of pressure on him and stops him late? Suddenly he's gone from undeserved #1 to a complete hypejob that was exposed on this forum.

    1. Froch
    2. Ward
    3. Kessler
    4. Bute
    5. Abraham
    6. Dirrel

    Fixed.

Abraham can't be No.3 after beating Taylor in his first outing at Super Middle

How are people ranking Froch no.1? He's beat Pascal who has no world class form at 168, a faded Jermain Taylor and a dodgy win against an unproven Dirrell.

Well i had Kessler ahead by quite a way. Ward beat him well, so I have to by rights put him up top. Kessler is still number 2 in my eyes.

As for Froch, I would pick Bute, Abraham, Kessler and Ward to beat him.

I don't think Froch has that bad of a choice because of how things conspired in the last few weeks. I didn't see Pac's dodgy 'win' over Marquez affecting his rating, these things go by the book.

Kessler prob would have been clear #1 if he won but he didn't. Ward has one win over Kessler, Mirdana hmmm..but its a big win so he's in contention. Bute has never fought a top fighter. Abraham has beat Jermain Taylor, so has Froch but Froch has done more as well. Dirrell can't be there for 'getting robbed' against Froch, its not enough.
