Not the first time Murtagh has pulled out of an Irish title fight, not that I want to suggest his injury isn't genuine.

Hopefully a replacement can be found.

They offered Robbie Long the fight but not at 6 days notice, Seen Anthony fitzgerald has had 7 weeks notice and 7 weeks training and especially after the last war them 2 had....I doubt they will be able to fine a suitable opponent in 6 days....

rays a good pal of mine even tho he was the world junior champion i wouldnt have said he was the best junior in the world. me and ray have had a few tear ups in sparring and ive also spared hyland and moylette was a far tougher spar than hyland. basically you could nearly say i was just taking hyland round. but that was over a year ago so the lad could have improved. maybe rays just not putting the training in or hes having problems with the weight but i hope he starts pulling himself together again cause hes a very good boxer

was at the championships moylete looked strong but hyland was more clinical in his punching great body shots moylete was loading up too much and seemed to forget about defence but it seems a lot of the boys coming from the 4 by 2 min competition are lacking in defence over the 3 by 3 min competition imo

Cheers for that Carlos. Sounds like he needs to buckle down and start working hard again.

Does anyone know if the amateur finals are on the 11th this year?

Indeed I am. I always go to earlier rounds at some stage but I'm feeling the pinch. I missed going so far so I'm well hyped up for the finals. I really like going to the amateurs probably moreso than the pros. Probably because I was raised on going to the amateurs because there was no real pro boxing around this country when I started taking an interest in it.

I'd say there will be a fair few of the heads from on here at it. Are you down for it yourself Marty?
