FAO Everyone else: Just so we're clear, I think Frankie Gavin is a great fighter from what I have seen and he would no doubt batter nulty but that would hardly prove his punching power, and him mouthing off like a chav twat on here does him no favours either. People are always gonna hate on famous people, that's the way it is....acting like a twat, is just gonna increase the frequency of that for him. Class maketh the man.

 

I'm not back tracking on anything mate. I truly think Frankie will come up short as a pro. If he does well that'll be good for british boxing and a boxing fan I'll be glad. But I don't think I'll be proved wrong.

As regards the amateur system yes it is a damning indictment that only world champion (us being a great boxing nation was a guy who was killing himself to make weight.) Surely us a major boxing nation should have more than one champ. If ypu disagree fine, maybe you like feeding on scraps.

 

Like I said, it's about class, not having a pop back at some internet nerd who is mouthing off about someone he doesn't know with a lot of ignorance. But the statement about no character I am starting to reconsider :huh look at how he reacted.

No other professional would rise to it, Steve Bunce has had horrific things said about him on here yet he ignores it for the most part and I've yet to see him mouth off. Frankie should take a lesson from that, talking **** to idiots is only going to make more people think the things nulty said about him. It's starting to persuade me with the cheer leader type defending and the way in which he reacted.

I have nothing against him, nothing at all but grown ups don't handle themselves like Frankie just did...if that's even him anyway which I hope that it isn't.

Amateurs and pro's are different sports, as regards character, it's not character as in "oh he's a lad" it's character as in character that means you can through tough times (really tough times, not I'm a waster who ****ed up my olympic chance and nearly ruined it for a teammate as well tough times) without breaking.
