    ermm Hopkins was 42.

Lacy achieved little before or after Calzaghe...and lost to Jones Jr only a few months ago

Kessler is the only real outstanding contender on Calzaghe's resume, in terms of a strong fighter beaten in his prime. Even then he is no great himself.

Calzaghe's record is just a list of average punks sprinkled with great fighters beaten well past their prime - Kessler being the one true exception of someone of a high standard in their prime.

I'm fast beginning to like you!

    It feels weird lol.

This topic is a waste of time as anyone who knows anything knows that JC against Jones was just about JC earning some $$$

Will,it feels a little bit weird,i'll admit it.

Davro-I honestly think that the Hopkins Jones beat would've also been beaten by the Hopkins Calzaghe beat.

Lacy was many a pundits choice in his fight with JC...it was a solid victory. The fact Jones beat him after all Lacy's injury problems means nothing.

No one is claiming JC to be the Worlds greatest but he is without question, the best boxer of this generation in Britain(that includes Lewis)

  5. People make me laugh. Why use this KO against Calzaghe and not the ****ing BRUTAL KO's RJJ suffered at the hands of Tarver & Johnson?

People are making out like Roy getting knocked the **** out is not something we've seen before.

It was a marquee money-spinner for Joe, ending his career against one of his boxing heroes. For ****'s sake lads.

whatever sentimental bull**** you all come up with for Calzaghe taking on RJJ, last night takes any credit away from his victory that the ******s gave him.

If you didn't give him any credit for it in the first place then fine.

But Jones Jr. is the latest in a long series of Calzaghe's conquests of losing to average schmucks. It kinda makes Joe's career look mediocre in hindsight.

Who's your fav British fighter of the last 10 years?

Not too interested in resume's altho it is important. (Would say that as a JC fan:hey tho wouldn't I?)

I know your views on JC so im not going to waste my time argueing about him with you. I can tell you why I liked watching him
I loved his style. Fastest hands and best workrate ive ever seen from a British fighter.

For the record,i'm Scottish and altho my middle name is Enzo,i'm not the real one.

Perhaps because it was 1 ****ing round

  10. When you get put to ****ing sleep it doesn't matter which ****ing round it's in.

Plus, the KO last night was the weakest of the three.

    ****ing.

You state it like it's an acceptable thing to do?

Your 'fact' has been destroyed many times over, because a super-fight with the red hot Kelly Pavlik was all agreed and ready for Joe to sign... but he told Warren he didn't want to risk a Pavlik fight and left him.

I also recall him stating 8 years before Roy Jones and him fought, how "He would want the crown jewels to fight someone like Roy Jones." because he didn't believe that he had a cat in hell's chance.

Bottom line is, Calzaghe is not a warrior, he is not someone who you would be proud of and have as your avatar (unless your a simpleton fan boy) because he represents everything wrong with boxing.

He whinged nobody would fight him and then as soon as he broke through, he refused lots of high profile fights.

His greatest win was Hopkins - a win surrounded in controversy that he didnt win whatsoever, that he was made to look like a flapping chicken, slapping thin air and was dumped royally on his ass.

Afterwards his beak was bust and covered in a plaster and both his eyes were black. Hopkins didn't have a mark on him.

Calzaghe is an un-trustworthy imbecile and hypocrite of the highest order.

A wooden dancer with the charisma of a dust pan & brush.

A man who swerved the likes of Glen Johnson after he stretched Jones, didn't want to know a prime Hopkins and didn't afford his domestic rivals the same opportunity that Eubank affored him.

A boring fighter, who can only win on points with a **** poor legacy is how everyone outside of Cardiff regard him.

Refused lots of high proflie fights??

    Elaborate please??

I hope Frochy aint on that list.

Bottom line is,you can slag JC off all day long for being a boring fighter but even on his worst day(possibly Sakio Bika??) he didn't look half as bad as your hero did against Dirrell.

''yeah but Dirrell didn't come to fight,he only came to outbox him!!''
