Haye Unified the CruiserWeight division, moved up to Heavyweight and won the Championship of the World.

Even guys like Archie Moore, Bob Foster, Billy Conn couldn't make the move to Heavyweight. It is an incredible feat.

Coincidently, Moore, Foster and Conn were smaller than Haye, and David Haye didn't have to fight the likes of Marciano, Frazier and Louis to try and grab a belt.

No doubt it's a great achievement, Holyfield did the same and I'd put him in my top 40. However, Holyfield beat better fighters at CW & better fighters at HW in a longer reign. Haye isn't anywhere all-time right now. When he beats the Klitschko's, then we can start talking about ATG rankings.

Outside top 100...he still has a lot more to prove at HW, plus there's plenty of good opposition he coulda fought at CW(adamek, Cunningham etc.)

    Top 500, easy.

EDIT if we're talking p4p. We're talking cruiserweights he's gotta be top 40 or 50.

Jean Marc Mormeck and Enzo was really good accomplishment. Haye won all the belts beating them, accept the one Steve Cunnigham had.

At Cruserweight: top 10, maybe even 5.

At Heavyweight: Top 20 so far (only because of the belt though.)

Great fighter, but as far as a short list of all-time p4p guys? Not really on the radar yet. At heavyweight? Not really on the radar yet. At cruiserweight? He's on the radar, it's a young division.

Probably better to ask this after he retires.

I would be interested to see how people would rank him if he decisively (no lucky shot etc) beat BOTH Klitschko brothers.

For the sake of argument, no predictions.

    Unifying the HW division.
Beating the two top, dominant fighters.
Knocking out a man rated with one of the best chins ever.

    Etc.

Yeah, it was ioncredible for Haye beat the Giant. The guy was almost unbeatable, with a record of 50- 1 and a legitimate World Title.

    This is fair.

Why do people rave on about this "undisputed cruiser champ" stuff. Why don't they come out and say he had two title fights against mediocre fighters?

Maybe because that would actually put his victories in the correct perspective?

Then why don't they mention how awful the cruiser division is? Same reason I guess.

Why don't they mention how awful Valuev was? Same reason.

I do think Haye would be in the top 500 ATG list.
