Danny Green has lashed out at long-time boxing rival Anthony Mundine, describing him as a

, while he was defeating the best in the world.

Speaking on Melbourne radio station Vega the morning after his shock victory over boxing great Roy Jones Jnr, Green exploded after being quizzed about Mundine's presence in the Jones Jnr corner.

"When you beat a legend you become a legend. He is busy taking on chumps and taking on babies while I am defeating the best in the world."
Green and Mundine have a long-established rivalry which came to a head in May 2006 when the two clashed in Perth. Mundine was victorious that night after outclassing Green over the full distance.

Last night, as Green answered questions about his plans for the future, Mundine was seen near the Jones Jnr corner gesturing for Green to take him on. Green ignored the publicity hungry Mundine's attempt to steal his thunder, instead suggesting that time with his family was the first thing on his agenda.

After what was the first defence of his IBO cruiser weight world title, 36-year-old Green is now eyeing the big money possibly on offer in the USA. Jones Jnr was lining up a re-match with Bernard Hopkins, a fight which could now fall into Green's lap.

"To take out one of greatest fighters of all time in Australia. It is going to go down in Australian boxing history," Green crowed.

"It is onwards and upwards. I didn't get touched, I don’t have a mark on me. That is a big thing for me."

Mundine did make him look very ordinary 3 years ago - no question there.

But they are like two lovers on the rebound trying to prove they can do without each other, and last night has suddenly put Green a long way in front.

Agree to a point.............but no matter what Green says he would have a burning desire to square the ledger with Mundine and i believe the rematch will occur 2nd half next year, the 2 parties will make it happen.:bbb:bbb:bbb

Agree, and prior to the RJJ bout I thought there'd be nothing surer than a Mundine re-match to follow if Green won. However, the emphatic nature of Green's win has suddenly significantly altered the dynamics.

With Mundine about to 'shrink' to light middle for his mid Jan bout with Medley, and Green an 'undersized' cruiserweight who currently holds that belt, you'd have to think there was never less chance of a re-match.

    But...

IMO the lines of communication between the two camps are kept up to date fairly regularly as their common pursuit is wealth, and Green v Mundine II = $Big!

You don't become a legend by beating a legend :patsch

Green is talking out of his ass.

Mundine has already whipped that 'chump'.

    green didnt say that.

mundine will never fight a legend. he is a follower, not a history maker.

green fought mundine after coming off a bad dehydration fight against sean sullivan. it takes a long time to get over nearly dying in the ring.......

green vs the pretend muslim at cruiser.....green will murder the illiterate, dribble talking follower....

Danny is obviously feeling on top of the world and is getting a bit mouthy

I think Green Mundine 2 would be interesting but there is too much difference in weight between both of them now

Mundine Has been going down hill FAST. I Had Respect For The Man awhile Back but With His Lastest Fights i beleave Fighting Green Would be Really Bad For him, I Think Green Will KO Mundine, Mundine is getting used to fighting Easy opposition , Being KD by guys Like Crazy Kim.

Although Roy was NO WHERE NEAR his Prime, It Does however Give Danny ALOT of Steam, and if the Rematch was to happen Danny's Momentum from this Fight will be to much for Anthony.

i Doubt this fight will happen, i Dont Think Mundine Wants it, He has Little to gain and alot to lose, and for Mundine that Spell (MAKE IT LOOK LIKE I WANT TO FIGHT BUT I DONT REALLY WANT TO)

Mundine Vs Green II = Green By KO ( But Id be Shocked If It Happens)
