I have been doing a fair bit of road running recently, and until this weather kicked in (cold) I could run about 6-7 miles quite comfortably. However in the cold air I seem to really struggle for breath, is there anything to do with cold air affecting breathing ?

I always get wheezy when I run in cold weather.

Yes, makes your lungs tighten. It'll pay off in the summer

  4. I preferred it, however my idea of cold is probably a lot differant to yours!!

Try wearing something covering your mouth, like a scarf or whatever.

That's what I do. Works pretty good.

  8. Last month i was running in the 'fog' early in the morning. It had a slight tinge to it... then I realized it was actually a dust storm.

So yeh, dust storms are bad for your lungs too. :nono

So is there any benefits from running in the cold other than you feel the benefits more in the summer ?
