ouch! no love for marquez. i think he's NEAR sanchez, just below. he has more notable wins but none on the level of gomez or nelson. he's a great, great fighter like many he'll never quite make the cut. to surpass chavez he would have had to beat mayweather. to surpass sanchez he'll have to take out pac NOW, in his prime. and i doubt he'd make it to the final bell with this pac.

 

Marquez is overrated. He fought good guys who were either past thier prime a little or just not that great, and still lost to John. He cannot pass those guys up. When he lost to Mayweather easily that means that is unattainable. If he was really a top ATG he would have made it a better fight vs. Mayweather.

Beating Mayweather would have set him in the right direction but it is what it is & Id say his overall ranking is quite fair amongst posters.

 

Not above Sanchez IMO. Also, I doubt Mexican fans will place him above JCC.
