Check out Morales drop his hands against Pac at 2:15. The second fight is underrated and even though EM was past his best it was a battle.

Blame Hamed and his team for that one, they cowered behind the whole "Barrera won the fight, so I want him" excuse.

Make no mistake, they knew Erik's chin was better than even Cesar Soto's, that his workrate/combo punching would have found Hamed's chin far more often than Kelley or Augie Sanchez could. And you know JUST what happened when you enraged Erik by landing flush on his chin back in the days..

(Points up to the lights and makes a Tweety-Pie sound) :)

By '01, Nas had to put up, or shut up; so, which outcome are you gonna take, KO'ed by Morales or outpointed by Barrera?

But I agree, that fight would have been even sexier than Morales Vs Barrera 1, and as close as I'll ever get to coming in my pants watching two MEN get it on.

    :)

Here, take a look at my profile picture...

There you have the next great featherweight Legend that will surpass Erik Morales and everyone else!

    His name is, Yuriorkis Gamboa!

Erik Morales with a record of 48 Wins and 6 loses does'nt convince me of his greatness. A true living legend should end up his career with a record like this: 48 Wins maybe 1 or 2 loses the most! Not 6 loses! And no excuses, as Erik was young and not old when he lost 6 times...He was a solid Champion but then again, the Cubans were not on the scene like now!

Just watch my boy Gamboa tear up the featherweights... He will end up with a much better record than Morales, that you can count on it, as a matter of fact, you can save this post for after Gamboa retires for proof! :bart

Cuidado que llegaron los Cubanos... :bart

There will never be another Morales. More Barreras are still to come but never will there be another warrior like Morales. He's too great, almost like MArquez.

    Quote from Scatterbrain:

4 of his losses came in at the tail end of his career when he lost to raheem, diaz and pac twice.

So what? Let me give you an example. Joel Casamayor lost 3 controversial matches, one against Freitas, the other against Castillo and the other against Corrales. Those fights, the vast majority of people felt that Joel got robbed and deserved the decision including myself but guess what? He still lost, it is on the record books and went down in history even though they were very bad decisions! Same applies to Morales and anyone else, it does'nt matter if they lost to Clinton or Bush, by controversy or not, they still lost and it's part of history.

Morales was between 29, 30 and 31 when he lost all those fights, an age of prime! Heck, even now he is just 33 years old! NO EXCUSE... :bart

Oh and for the haters calling Gamboa " Glassboa " just because of " flash knockdowns " I got news for you. Instead of Glassboa he will be called " Bang!boa " as in every fight that what he shows. A fighter with a Glass Jaw is the one who gets hit and gets knocked out, not like Gamboa that his knockdowns are like putting one hand in the floor and gets up in a second and then whips his opponent! That's not a Glass Jaw, that's being cought of balance. The day you see him layed out in the floor and not getting up ( in 2 or 3 fights ) then you all will have a valid point about his chin but until that happens, he is Bang!boa...

    Cuidado que llegaron los Cubanos...:good

Be real, don't hate, just state the facts...And yes, Gamboa will be the best featherweight Champion of the last 20, 30, 40 or perhaps in all of history... :good
