Jonathan Gonzalez, the 20 year old former olympian with the 6-0 record, is puerto rico's best shot for it's next great welterweight champ
Fantastic, he needs to take the belt from Foreman and finish his career in PR. Chavez Jr. vs. Cotto sounds good to me.
Thank Margarito for destroying Cotto's career and potential legacy. Thanks to Margarito we will never know how great Cotto could have been.
If it's really only going to be 2 more fights then I'd like to see him in with only elite level fighters. And I hope Cotto reconsiders his stance on Magarito because imo it would be the ultimate farewell fight.
I will no doubt make it to one of his fights. Hopefully one will be in the Garden. Taking the trainnnnnnnnnnnnn. Never been to a fight before anyway.
we'll he has earned alot of money & as I read some info he already made some good business of his money. a good decision on the part of cotto to retire early for long & health living and he can enjoy the fruit of his hard work. besides the punishment he has taken from his last three fights are enormous and having that for many fights will put him in danger. i hope he still wins belt before he retirs for good.
Maybe he could reconsider after getting a new trainer and seeing what that does for him. He's been in some wars but so did Pacman earlier in his career. Margarito-Yes that was a war, but look at how he outclassed Margo in the first half of the fight, and we don't know if Margo was using something illegal. Clottey-Does anyone look good against Clottey? Plus he had a cut. Pacquiao-An ATG. I'm just not convinced that he's done yet. Only he knows it really but I think he still has a lot to offer and could still mix with the elite. If he does retire soon, I'll be sad to see him go but what a man. I look up to that guy, what a warrior and one of the classiest guys in the sport. For now though I say get yourself a new trainer and see what happens. You never know it could provide a fresh start to your career.
