Interview with Matthew Macklin if anyone's interested! http://www.brandhatton.com/VideoNews/531/Macklin_ready_for_Pintos_test_in_Dublin.aspx
Can't go to the Macklin fight now. Had to give my tickets away and all :-( I'll have to make the most of the amateur finals now. I was all geared up to see the boy Prunty and everything. Hopefully they might show him on the box anyway.
of course we r interested...this is the irish boxing threadatsch did u notice he made the remark...that since dunnes defeat matt now claims 2b leading the way 4 the irish fighters..that comment makes it clear where his loyalities r :good
Ya me and a few buddies are heading up, what time is it starting at i haven't picked up my tickets yet.hopefully i'll be able to get a few quick pints in the wolfe tone before it.
Fizgerald versus Scrivin for the irish title give me a break i want the irish title to be brought back big time but scrivin shouldnt qualify with his record of 14-61. It contests like this that make a mockery of the Irish crown. :bart
This fight on saturday for macklin i will watch before amir con but we all know this guy is just brought in to do the rounds and is no real threat for macklin. pirog will be the big test for macklin before his world title shot and you can be sure that wont be held in ireland! all macklins big fights will be held in the uk and his voluntarys if we are lucky will be held in ireland but i doubt we will see him again ireland until he wins a world title, lets get real about his prioritys lads........
Hatton promotes Macklin, and money will dictate where Macklin will fight in the future, because if he can fill the o2[which is very unlikely ] and duplicate the atmosphere of a Dunne fight there, then I could envisage Matthew boxing in Ireland quite regularly. But the National Stadium is where it all begins tomorrow, and if there is a poor crowd, then all plans for the o2 could be shelved. it will take a few fights in ireland to reach dunnes level but a fight with lee or duddy would do massive business
