Every-time someone makes an argument like this...it tells you everything you need to know about them!!!! I hate those: "Was it a good fight?" statements. Or ""Floyd is a Boring fighter" claims....Thats just plain bull-****!!!! Some people like Oprah, some people like Jerry Springer. Some people like Comedy, some people like drama. Some people like a spread-offense, some people like a running attack (I am assuming these posters are fans of other sports...cuz' based on their post, its obvious that they're NOT BOXING FANS!) Some people like home runs, some people like a NO-HITTER. Some people like Slam Dunks, some people like a Princeton Offense. AND SOME PEOPLE (MOSTLY "CASUAL" BOXING) LIKE AN ALL OUT BRAWL, SOME SIMPLY ENJOY THE "SWEET SCIENCE" OF SLICK RHYTHM FILLED TIMING, HEAD AND FOOT-MOVEMENT, A SNAPPING JAB, ACCURATE COUNTER-PUNCHING AND NOT GETTING TOUCHED!!! There are "fight fans" that enjoy the style of Floyd Mayweather and even Whitaker, Winky...etc. And it has nothing to do with "Nut-Hugging!!!" So just because YOU don't like it...Don't assume that No-one else doesn't!!!!!
Actually Floyd is a ducker because he's been a welterweight for 4 years and fought Ricky Hatton and Juan Manuel Marquez instead of Cotto, SSM, Margarito, or Williams.
The TS didn't put prove anything but Floyd only fights for money. If anything the points reiterated just adds to the fact that he did not want the risky fights. Who really knows how much he would've gotten from a fight against Cotto, Mosely, Margarito, or PW? He didn't try to get the fight done so we'll never know. You can post all the videos you want but nothing will say that he is fighting to be the best. If he wants to prove he's the best, he should have stepped up and fought the best, you know who I'm talking about. Instead, he retired, until they beat each other out. You can not self proclaim that you're the best until you've proven yourself. I have mad respect for Floyd's skills, but it needs to be tested against the best to gain respect. If he clears the welterweight division, of course, I'll give him respect. Right now, I have respect for his skills, but as a person no! As most boxing fans, we watch boxing to see an exciting fight just as we want to see a high scoring football game. The lack of exciting fights have placed the sports in a rocking boat. A casual fan sees a boring fight like Floyd's and they lose interest and moves on to MMA. As boxing fans, we want boxers to fight the best to prove to be the best, not to prove who can make more money and less risk at that. I don't know what you guys like about Floyd, unless you like being lied to or spend your money on a boring fight.
You dont know **** about me. I like winky and whitaker. I am a fan of true boxing. I expressed what i like about floyd. I dont like the fact that he doesnt exert himself. That he is satisfied with doing the bare minium. I dont like when Hopkins does that either, and he is one of my favorite fighters. I never call anyone a nutthugger because they like his style. I call them nutthugger because they try desperately to defend his obvious handpicking, and seem to care more about him getting money than fightinggood fighters. Try again
See...This is what I am talking about...BEING TOTALLY MISINFORMED!!! Floyd just fought Oscar at 154lbs...So he is supposed to DRAIN himself 14 pounds to fight Hatton, instead of doing "what they did" and meet in the middle at 147lbs!!! WOW:-(
Exactly. Compare floyds resume at welter to cottos, shanes, margaritos, even clotteys and it falls short. Why is it that only politics come into play when it comes to floyd? Every fighter is in the same business, all trying to get paid, yet that doesnt stop any of the current welters from all fighting eachother. Why is it that there are only these issues when it comes to floyd?

What's the back and forth about? Nobody is adressing the TS point. (And no his point isn't floyd avoiding guys for more money). People are avoiding the OP because they have no answer, so they are turning it into a bash thread. Nice job guys.
What's the back and forth for? I've yet to see anybody adress the TS point. (And no his point isn't floyd not fighting guys because of bigger paydays.) This has turned into a flame thread filled with name calling. Childish, but what else should I expect this is esb. Answer the OP people. If you can't then don't turn the thread to ****.
When Mayweather first moved to 140. The top lightweights in no order were Gatti, Tszyu, Cotto, Hatton, Corley, Torres, Malinaggi Mayweather only fought Gatti and Corley. So while he did fight some of the top comp at 140 he didn't fight there long enough vs top comp. So criticism can be said there. Though we all know that Mayweather moved up to 147 so that he could get a shot at Mosley and DLH. Plus it was said that many of the fighters didn't want Mayweather at that time. But I am only going to go by who he fought or didn't fight and look to avoid circumstance. At 147, Judah was the top dog. Baldo became the number 2. Margarito was the number 3. Margarito become the WBO since 2001 yet didn't fight Judah, Spinks, Baldo, Mayorga, Forrest at 147 or 154, Winky at 147 or 154. Out of those top 3 Judah was the toughest opponent on paper if you look at the mix of talent, speed, power, skill, size. So Mayweather did fight 2 of the top 3 welterweights during his first appearance at welterweight. Cotto didn't become a welterweight until after Mayweather defeated Baldomir. Cotto didn't become a top welterweight until after Mayweather defeated DLH at 154. At 154 the top dogs were Winky, Mosley, DLH. Mayweather fought one of the top 3 at junior middleweight. So at 154 Mayweather fought top 3 comp vs Junior Middle weight. After Mayweather retired he fought Hatton the top lightweight at 147. Cotto, Mosley, Margarito were the top welterweights during that time. So you can criticism him for fighting the light weight but that move is understandable but still he didn't fight the top welters at that time frame. Then fought JMM the top light weight. Fighting Hatton was understandable but I can see the criticism for fighting JMM at 147 rather then Mosley. So I would say he didn't fight the top come enough at 140 and he didn't fight the top welters AFTER HE RETIRED vs DLH. But he did fight the top comp at his first appearance at 147 and during his appearance at 154. I think that is a fair assessment. Reguardless he is now fighting the top P4P and top welter who is a future hall of famer and is 2yrs younger. So he is back to fighting the top welters. He still has time to fight more top welters as well. So even if he ends up missing out on Cotto or Margo. He still has opportunities to fight Pacman, Mosley, Berto, Williams building his resume at 147.
You obviously have a problem in comprehension, logic and reasoning. I was not a member of ESB 8 years ago. Try to look up the entry date and you will see 2006 unless you want me to sing praises to PAST GLORIES like what you do. You can't talk about the past 8 years without kilometer long defense, idiot. I changed my mind because you are so persuasive, I now declare Mayweather's resume as the best in the world past 130 pounds - happy? You can't win an argument by throwing a bull**** thread, then close it. I stand by my description of douchebag with talent - sue me and I will prove it beyond doubt. I just do not have the time to be looking for the videos like you do or better yet, pay me and I will enlighten you.
