Tua v Rahman at this stage. Yes, it would be very, very tough for Tua.

Let us not talk too much about the obvious here. Tua's hook landing usually, but not always, ends in a knockout.

Landed in the first and was perhaps prematurely stopped. I thought so myself.

In the second Rahman got the best of the fight in my opinion, and closed with what looked, in my opinion, to be a genuine knockdown.

I am not particularly impressed with Rahman's skills or resilience, but he does seem to have a style to trouble Tua. He has very good raw power himself (though not usually the speed to land).

    Discuss a hypothetical outcome.

Remember that both fights happened at comparative career points for both fighters.

At this point? Rahman hasn't beat a credible opponent in 5 years and has looked less than impressive in his recent outings. Citing their previous fights is a mug's game. One looks like a contender at this point, the other does not.

    Rahman gets hurt.

Mug's game? It is exactly what I did! Look at my first post.

Anyway, thank you for your post.

I think that Rahman's style could frustrate Tua for a few rounds, even at this stage.

    Maybe even 12 rounds.

Rahman might have the edge in activity but I think Tua is fresher judging on how they looked recently. Rahman looks pretty slow and past it whereas Tua looked refreshed more than anything.

Competition comes into that, Rahman was fighting Wlad, but he was struggling with James Toney when he should really have the physical abilities and skillset to beat old ass Toney.

If it were to be Tua's next fight i think it would be too premature. He has not had many rounds. If Rahman could frustrate him for a while maybe the latter rounds would be his. But i think i would have to favor Tua to win even at this point.

Oh, small note on the reason of me listing the records, since it has already been mentioned.

    It was actually for Zakman.

He has a certain formula for these sorts of fights...

    :yep

That's why I mentioned it - in this case, I think it's misleading given Rahman's recent performances and how long ago the fights were.

I'm not sure "Rahman's style" even exists any more. Putting too much into 1 fight of Tua's isn't that safe, either, but given what we have to go on, I think there's only one conclusion.

Yup. Rahman's chin is china! You and I both know one big left would be ALL it would take. Tua would get it in, and Rahman would get flattened......again.

rahman's second fight with tua was a long time ago, rahman is nowhere near the fighter he used to be let alone the fighter that fought tua the second time. tua hasn't really showed any signs of aging or slowing down, rahman has looked mediocre to down right terrible as of lately. tua destroys rahman at this point.

I think Rahman's punch resistance is gone...
he prob wouldnt be able to absorb Tua shot/shot's.

    I'd take Tua.

Wow. That was inconsiderate of my feelings.

Besides, I have now given you more insight into my reasons for it.

    Everyone knows that, Zak.

But Tua, in two fights, never flattened Rahman.

    Interesting, no?

Actually, Tua ended up picking himself off the canvas.

So, what is it to be?

    Early Tua win?

Or does he come from behind and win late?
