the majority of people who don't him do so because he hasn't fought anyone of substance and has a glass jaw...but a small minority despise him because of his race/religion...
He did say it's a minority not the majority, if you just shut your mouth and don't say anything it's only going to get worse, have to stand up to bullies imo.
Khans talkin a load a pish look at the stick Hatton gets about his weight and the stick Calzaghe gets about being a cherry picker and there both white.Nearly every top fighter gets stick about something and it dosent help when your on £15 PPVs against guys like ***an and Prescott who was unknown at the time.
These are legends of our sport,at least there legends to fans who dont only support one fighter. Its disgusting. WAR SALITA.:good
i agree theyre legends of the sport and he shouldnt fight morales, but having barrera on ur cv was smart, lets just be happy he aint fightin morales...... khan ko salita inside 6
guys, I think you're blowing this way out of proportion. Let's look at what he actually said: "It’s probably jealousy and sometimes skin colour does make a difference" In my view I think there is a minority of people out there who hate Khan due to his skin colour. He's just being open and admits it's "probably jealousy" and that skin colour "sometimes" makes the difference. Spot on IMO. Next thing he said is: "I would be a superstar in Britain. I never get racial remarks [said to my face], but it’s always out there, which you can’t stop. You just live and learn about what people are like. I just choose to ignore them.” WHERE EXACTLY DID HE SAY THAT HE'D BE A SUPERSTAR IF HE WAS WHITE? He's merely saying that he'd be more popular than he otherwise is if racism wasn't out there. The guy is already short of being a superstar and removing the band of racists out there would no doubt propel him to goldenboy status in the UK. Get over it lads; let's stop falling for newspaper headlines. Source: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/more_sport/boxing/article6945167.ece
"I know if maybe I was a white English fighter, I would be a superstar in Britain and the world." Top Dog, I can see why you might be pissed if you've been rooting for Khan and ain't a racist, but there's no denying that there are some sour grapes out there who write pretty filthy racist things about Khan on the internet. Just read the comments on YouTube or as Icemax suggested watch a stream with comments. It was only a few months ago that Frank Warren had to step in with legal action against a racist campaign against Khan on facebook: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/sep/10/amir-khan-frank-warren-facebook After knowing that and listening to the chants he gets at fights, it's hardly a suprise that in Khan's head he might concede that "maybe" if he was white and the racism wasn't outthere that he'd be a bigger star in britain and world. All this hoo haa and outrage over what he said is waaaaaay over the top IMO. People need to take a step-back and put it into context. :thumbsup
