Luckily for him, he has only 12 rounds of sparring scheduled for next Saturday, and he might be out after 6.

Sure KJ could spar even 36 rounds a day, it depends solely on the quality of his sparring opposition. I have no doubts he could spar even 48 rounds a day against me (assuming I could spar for 48 rounds with him, which I surely couldn't, but just for the sake of the argument...) and I could try to take his head off all the time, he would just laugh and play with me.

But when he steps in the ring with Vitali next weekend and tastes the first few lethers and realizes how many lightyears away he is from having any realistic chance to win, KJ will quickly but lately realize there's a slight difference between sparring with whomever he was paying to, and fighting a real fight against a real Vitali Klitschko...

As all the guys before him, who were talking the same talk before the fight and who then were walking the same walk in the fight, he will realize soon enough he has bitten off MUCH MORE then he can chew...

is he openly implying he's overtraining with his regime or bragging?

24 rounds a day is foolish. If he's doing this consistently, he'll just burn out.

Wlad's opponents are the same way. Ever since Sanders anybody wit ha C level punch thinks they can starch him. Austin thought he had a shot. I cant remember how many times that bum said I'm gonna make it rain in there. It gets old. Wlad's opponents have essentially no paln they just expect his glass jaw to crack after one or two punches. Essentially fat ass holes like Peter and Areolla in Vitali's case think they can show up way outa shape and just land a few and win. If it was that easy the two brothers would no longer be champions. I wish the rest of the division would learn that you need a plan to beat these guys. Their fights would not be so unwatchable if their opponents could bring it. Gomez had the right idea for like a round. Ibragimov was able to frustrate Wlad. Brock got to the body and won a few rounds and Thompson made himself hard to hit and managed to survive. Johnson better have a battle plan if he expects to win

Yeah KJ's talks is nothing new. What is new with him compared to other recent Vitaly opponents is that at least Kingpin is definitely prime, fit, decent sized, and fairly skilled. Not saying that I give Johnson too much chance but at least it should be a better scrap vitaly's most recent fights (arreola , JCG, and Peterr.) Arreola was prime and had enough size and strenght, but was unfit with primitive skill/fight strategy. JCG had the size and skill but looked washed up a bit and had no power. Peter was out of shape and too short to hang with vitaly and lacked a skill set to level the playing field.

Vitali should get him out by the 8th or so.

    Maybe even sooner.

The Klits arent going to lose anytime soon.

Well, you cant really criticize them for that. They have to believe in themselves, otherwise why take the fight?

I think what they all underestimate is two things

    1. How awkward Vitali is to fight. Emmanuel Steward has commented on this. On tape he doesnt look confusing, but in the ring he is enormously difficult to predict or hit clean, and establishing a rhythm against him doesnt happen.

    2. His physical strength. Vitali is an immensely strong guy, and he knows how to use it. He is bigger than all his opponents but still athletic, and he will always be the strongest man in the ring, by a fair margin.

    Exactly.

I hear Shannon Briggs doesn't do road work either. Maybe we should hold him up as an example.

Angelo Dundee didn't like Ali doing more than 4 miles of roadwork per day...... But Ali was also avid about lotsa' sparring...... Ali got all the cardio he needed.........

If Kevin Johnson is weighing in the mid 240s than you know its pretty much the same ole same ole bullcrap......

    GO KLIT!!
