It is true. I got schooled up on it recently. It isn't a rule from FMJ. It is a rule from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Somehow, the *******s make it FMJ's fault? As long as they agree, they should be able to wear 8 oz though.

    http://boxing.nv.gov/New_FAQ.htm

Question: What are the gloves sizes based on the boxer/kickboxer's weight?

Answer: Athletes (boxers/kickboxers) weighing-in up to and including 135 pounds must wear 8 oz. gloves in competition, while athletes weighing-in over 135 pounds (junior welterweight class and above) must wear 10 oz. gloves in competition. However, athletes weighing in over 135 but not more than 147 pounds may wear 8 ounce gloves in competition if both athletes agree to do so in writing.

Floyd haters are only exposing their IGNORRANCE!!!

Example: They are saying that Flyd is requesting 10oz gloves as if that is some UNDER-HANDED "TYPICAL" FLOYD MAYWEATHER NEGOTIATING TACTIC...

When in reality..."real" Boxing fans are well aware of Floyd's past "hand problems". So requesting 10oz gloves (Pillows..as known in Boxing Circles) is merely to make sure his hands can take the continuous pounding on Manny's face...!!!

But to say that he requested 154lbs is just ABSURD!!!! And it tells you everything you need to know about a poster who BELIEVES everythng that is posted on the TONS OF OBSCURE Websites and Blogs..And then they post the links as if its: "THE BIBLE"

These are probably the same people that has a Basement full of "NATIONAL ENQUIRERS" and they believe all that crap inside about Aliens and Elvis still being alive!!!:-(

The Fight has been signed and a date set...Sit back and ENJOY IT!!!

But to continue to Post exaggerations and lies...IS JUST PLAIN IRRESPONSIBLE...AND SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT THE INTEGRITY (OR LACK THEREOF) OF THE POSTER!!!!:-(

No, 8 oz. gloves are optional. Can only be used if both fighters agree with it.

They aren't sources you clown. They are ignorant non fact checking "jounalists" who repeated a rumor just like your dumb ass did. The original damn story was on ESB yesterday.

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=22146&more=1

It sounded nothing like this but had all the "facts" you state as just random baseless crap Roach's ignorant ass said while on the opposite side of the planet from negotiations. Now all you wanna be "insiders" chop and rearrange that crap to make it a "story"? ******* clowns.

*******s are scared out of their minds. They will lie, cheat, and steal now that their boy Pac has shown his true colors. :yikes

Ah, I knew it was something like that. Seems odd that they would require 10 oz. gloves @ 135. :huh

It says 10 oz. if the fighter is heavier than 135, but again it's only in Las Vegas.

"The source also disclosed other aspects of the fight, which will take place at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds for Pacquiao's title and match the top two fighters in the world, pound-for-pound.

The camps agreed to a 50-50 split of the money, which could be gargantuan. Many experts expect the fight to eclipse the all-time pay-per-view record for sales, which is the 2.44 million buys generated by Mayweather's 2007 victory against Oscar De La Hoya.
Both fighters will wear 8-ounce gloves but each fighter will be allowed to select the brand of gloves he will wear for the fight."

My my my... how things turned... you are now starting to agree with the 10 oz gloves. So asking 10 oz gloves are nomal PBF tactics now, I guess he can protect his brittle hands and Pac can wear his 8 oz gloves.

Floydette nuthuggers starting to agree with the 10 oz gloves. :good
