Look, I've never thought much of Brian Minto as a fighter, never thought he'd amount to anything more than a fringe contender in the HW division, and I still think this. But what HEART huh????

Like Arreola said, he's one tough mother****er, and as a boxing fan, I have to admire that. Minto may not be the most skilled, he may not have the most power, but there are plenty more talented fighters who could learn a thing or two from about giving your ALL in the ring.

Count me as a Minto Fan after tonight!!!:happy:happy

Agreed. Minto showed tons of heart. Count me in as a fan as well. It was inspiring seeing him not give up.

No quit in Minto. I had no respect for him until tonight. He has balls!

I'm not sure if Minto could beat Ruiz. I'm still a fan of the way he fights though

How many times do you see guys mail it in, or quit when the going gets tough?? Minto is what boxing is all about - or should be all about. He deserves credit for his gutsy effort tonight!!!

Minto always comes to give the fans a good show. His illustration of toughness tonight was just another example of that.

If he had as much skills as he does balls he'd be undefeated

if minto were younger, i'd say drop to cruiser and give it a whirl. he's just too undersized for Hw, aside from skill issues.

Yeah, he's not the most talented, but he sure gives it everything he has. Someone mentioned Ruiz as a possible opponent - they're at a similar level of ability, and I think Minto would win it on his heart and toughness. You sure wouldn't see him hanging on for dear life or faking low blows!!

One thing for sure, I'd be rooting hard for Minto. Unlike Ruiz, who symbolizes everything bad about this sport, Minto stands for everything that's good.

I started rooting for the guy during the fight. He got tagged and was obviously wobbling, but he kept coming and brawling. I hope he gets some more fights on tv, I'll watch.

Co-Sign. Like (I think it was Manny) said, this is a guy who needs protection from himself... No quit whatsoever in this guy. He'd flourish in a 200-225 weight class.
