I think he does & so does Freddy Roach! He is scarily fast and going up in weight has brought alot more to the table for him now. I think his chin will improve going up in weight and as he has said, he's learning to sit down on his punches now. His hands are so fast they'll give anyone around his weight trouble, I dont give a **** who they are but they would.
He has amazing speed. But the real problem will come when he fights people who can punch. He's been in with 1 puncher in his career, and he lost. His entire career at world level is going to have to built around either blitzing them out before they get to him, or hit and run like with kotelnik. :good Seconded. Khan's handspeed comes in flurries, and he's gradually working on making his shots more effective. There's still a long way to go. Mayweather's speed comes with precision. It's not only a matter of throwing a fast shot, but also throwing the right shot at the right time. Khan and Mayweather are very different fighters. Facing a sparring partner with fast hands is always good for practice, but it will take much more than that to prepare for the biggest fight in Pacquiao's career. PS: I realized I went off topic. Regarding Khan's hands, they're very fast and speed is definitely his best asset and the one thing that allowed him to come this far. He was never a defensive genius, he doesn't have a granite chin, and he isn't a KO artist either. Freddie can work on his offence, defence, stamina/conditioning, but it's the handspeed that got him here.
no arguement in his speed but your chin dont improve,he will always have that weakness,just got to not take a full hit on the chin by guarding and movement,if he gets half caught i think he will get away with it.
Im not sure anyone is a good sparring partner to prepare for Floyd.........they should try and get Peterson,the rumors were he gave Floyd a lot of trouble.
While you can't actually train a chin, there seem to be a few things that help fighters take punches better. The Wild Card team have worked well with Khan's physique, putting more muscle on the legs, toning down the previously unnecessarily muscled upper body and working on the neck. Also, working on defence is key. A good defence allows a stunned fighter to recover, whereas previously the same fighter would have been there for the taking.
There's no one good enough to imitate Mayweather for Pacquiao and no one good enough to imitate Pacquiao for Mayweather, they will just have to rely on ability and skill in the ring to win. Khan would be a very good sparring partner giving Pacquiao some serious speed to get used to, I don't think there is anyone with better speed out there for him to spar with and Khan is in Roach's stable so it's all good and helpful for both guys.
yes, Khan probably has the fastest hands in the boxing world but he needs to educate his speed. Throwing an uneducated salvo of punches leaves you open to counters. In addition, as more punches you throw per second less power they usually carry, but educated speed does kill...
Pity he can't emulate Mayweathers defense. Floyd's is the best in the business whilst Khan's is arguably the worst.
