Stop overrating martinez please!

    Some of the **** i hear on this ****ing board is beyond ridiculous.

    "paul williams took on the number 1 junior middle"
    Wtf, what did martinez do to be number 1 junior middle?? beat frmr welter cintron???

    "martinez proved he is number 1 last night"
    Hate to break it to you guys, but there is other guys in the division. Like sergey dzidurnik(sp), cory spinks, and yuri foreman. Beating pw in a close fight dosent make you number 1 beyond reasonable doubt. Pw's light middle resume (a shot winky and an old verno phillips) isnt extremly impressive either.

    "martinez would beat anyone from 154-160"
    martinez has done nothing to prove that he would beat the top guys at 160.

    Martinez is a good fighter, but he still needs a good win or 2 under his belt to prove he is the real deal. He has only 2 fights against good comp and even tho he beat them both, he his 0-1-1 against them officially.


    I swear, so many people hate on mayweather, who has faced MUCH better comp then martinez, and has consistently won, and he is hated on...

    Martinez has 1 good showing against PW, and he is now the number 1 fighter :-(

    Yuri Foreman isnt even worth a ****ing mention in this thread, hes a skilless ****ing jerkoff.

    But anyway, Ill stop overrating Martinez when people stop overrating Williams.

    Yuri Foreman?You kidding?

    Spinks is still a top dog but past it and inactive.Dzinziruk hasn't fought for a year due to managerial problems.

    Along with Vernon Forrest's untimely passing it's not far fetched to have Martinez at no 1.

    lol, yuri foremans win over daniel santos (proven light middle) is much better then sergios win over kermit cintron (unproven light middle)

    Unless you think beating cintron is more of an acomplishment then beating santos :lol:

    I agree.
    The Praise that they keep heaping upon is PW! Who is finally in the right weight class and doesn't look as overwhelming as in the lower weight classes!

    why because im not quick to be on a fighters nuts after 1 fight? You guys act like martinez is on a whole other level then foreman.

    Can you guys please give me some kind of facts, to back up the bull**** you are saying??? Because styles make fights. And unless they fight, we will never know how martinez will look against foreman or vice versa.

    Btw its verrrrrry hard to look good against santos, who is known as a spolier. Just because martinez looked good against williams and cintron, dosent automatically mean he will look the same against foreman (a completly different style).

    Hey, i actually would pick martinez against foreman, but i think they are on the same level.... Martinez hasnt beaten anyone to prove to me he is on a whole nother level and would **** all over foreman. You guys are all bandwagon cheerleading ***gots. **** YOU

    According to the Genius's at ESB EVERY ****in fighter is overrated. Some say Mayweather is overrated, some say Pacquiao is overrated, Pavlik, Williams, Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, Hatton on and on and on. Styles make fights and Martinez had a great game plan but at the end of the day he still lost. Yesterday's fight does NOT mean Paul Williams or Martinez is overrated or underrated it just means they should fight again because boxing needs more fights just like this one, 2 young and hungry fighters giving it they're all in a very difficult sport to excel in.

    So Williams isn't the real deal? He just gave him the hardest fight of his life. Stop hatin on Martinez. He'd wax the rest of the 154lbers ass. Don't worry he said he would love a rematch with Williams. Williams is the cream of the crop at 154. Fight could of gone either way, so Martinez deservingly deserves his due.

    no ones overrating maritnez, hes actually vastly underrated, however last night proved pw, despite his height and reach is not a legit middle, he would be awesome at ww, because of a freakish reach and height advantage, but not due to technical skill, his defense isnt really that good, hes in great shape and throws a bunch of punch's but doesnt have damaging power, hes not a p4 p elite, williams is the overrated one, he beat a washed up old inactive winky wright, come on lets come back down to reality williams fans

    Yes knocking out(cuz that's what he did) a prime Cintron is better than outpointing a out of shape past it Santos.

    You have to take into consideration the performance aswell,Santos was truly terrible in that fight and was put down twice by non puncher Foreman.
    Cintron while was sluggish did have his moments early and late in the fight(afte he got knocked out though).
