Let's be honest, he was BADLY hurt against a guy not known for his punching power, who took the fight on short notice. If Martinez had gotten his shot in earlier, we might very well have seen Williams blasted out of there. I think if Williams fights a guy like Kelly Pavlik we're gonna see some shattered glass!!

Who's the hardest puncher that Williams have faced?

He has narrowly avoided being immortalized in a Glass Jaw avatar...for the time being.

He needs to tread carefully. If he meets Pavlik, him and his Chin will be Goodnight Vienna.

    Disagree.

PW walked into to hellacious shots. Anyone can get hurt if you walk into flush shots. I think PW's has a very good chin.

While not a big puncher, I've always thought Martinez had at least respectable power. I won't question Paul's chin yet, since he took punches from loaded gloves Margarito. When he fights big punchers we'll find something out.

when the guy is stretched out with a KO loss, then talk about his chin....until then, talk about his balls for getting up from a knockdown. stick that in your glass jaw ass boom boom

Exactly. I don't know how anyone could watch that first round and not come away with worries about how Williams' whiskers will hold up as he takes on harder punchers.

Umm, maybe because he ran flush into a perfectly placed right hook? It's not like his legs were gone. He was stunned but he obviously recovered because he went the distance.

What a joke. His chin is unfreakingingbelievable. He has little leg strength/leg power. So he can be wobbled or knocked off balance. The guy has an awesome chin with terrific recovery powers. His got calves the size of twigs and has very little leg power. Use your common sense folks. Questioning his chin is idiotic. Thread starter is a ******.

I couldn't even count how many times his legs went out and his eyes rolled back, so he can be hurt, like almost anybody. He took some huge shots and managed to see the end of the fight though. His chin is still a question until he takes on a big puncher, if Pavlik can tag him clean i think he would take him out. I don't see anyone at 154 being a huge chin checker though.

No, that was just a KD. If Williams chin was questionable, it would have been more apparent, as Martinez landed many times. That said, I don't know if Williams has this cast iron chin everyone seems to think he has either. For one thing, Williams has NOT faced a puncher that would allow one to suggest it's iron. A lot of guys in boxing have 'decent' chins. I think Williams might be more in that category.
