For PW and his camp to keep expunging the lies that he is so Avoided my question had always been why didn't he ever fight James Kirkland.:huh:huh
Why?? People are allowed to assert - without ANY way to PROVE it - that "that punch woulda KOed anyone" :lol What's wrong with a far more PLAUSIBLE explanation (particularly if it happens more than once) that some fighters just don't have very good chins?? The jury is still out on Wiliams. But at this point, any reasonable person would have doubts.
Because Kirkland is low reward and high risk. And after what we saw last night, if Kirkland comesback as the same fighter that fought Julio, Williams would not see past Rd.5 against him.
The ironic thing is, Team Williams said (pre-jail) Kirkland was too unknown to fight Williams. Yes, this coming from Team Williams who calls out any big name in 3 divisions and then claims to be ducked if they say no thanks.
I don't know if it's a chin issue, or troube with fast hands. You mentioned Pavlik, so let's take an example from there. Taylor put Pavlik on ***** street, but Miranda, who obviously hits much harder than JT, couldn't buy a blink with his life savings. Speed kills! But ya, regardless, Pavlik KO5 Williams, but I don't base that on last night.
This glass jaw **** is really starting to **** me off, just because you get knocked down it doesn't mean you have a glass jaw. It generally doesnt matter how good your chin is if you get caught on the button with a good shot or a punch you don't see coming.
I don't understand this. Lots of fighters have shaky chins, and glass jaws. Why is that a reason to get "pissed off??" :huh It's part of boxing. Incidentally, I'm not saying Williams chin is glass. That's not clear yet. But his chin IS questionable after getting decked hard by a light hitter. It remains to be seen if this is merely a blip on the radar, or whether a pattern emerges.
I think the Pavlik/Williams fight happens and after last night I think Williams gets KTFO. I like Williams nothing against him but one has to wonder after last night. The GREAT think about all this is we will eventually find out the answer it will no longer be speculation. Also I continue to laugh at the people on here that refuse to acknowledge the importance of punch resistance.
What's even weirder is people who seem to be upset about fans pointing out the existence of glass jaws in boxing. It's like they are so FAR in denial of reality that when someone points it out they are like those "Hear NO Evil, See No Evil" types - utterly disconnected from the reality that LOTS of fighters have shaky chins!!!
Doesn't last night show he has a good chin. Damn, Zak and Rico always hoping to hear the sound of shattered glass makes them delusional.
Speed and timing are important. You don't have to be a monster to hurt someone else, even if they have a good chin.
