he chin is somewhere between very good and excellent. one knockdown by a perfectly timed power punch doesn't equal weak chin, he takes big shots flush every fight and walks through them.
Perhaps. But a fighter hitting the canvas hard from a shot from a light-hitter can also indicate that that fighter's chin isn't so great. Further evidence is needed, but right now, there have to be QUESTIONS raised about Williams' punch resistance.
Those questions were answered by my doctoral committee, I think, when they awarded my Ph.D. Why is it that some of you get so worked up, and resort to irrelevant personal attacks when simple matters like questions of chin strength are raised? This is an important part of boxing and it should be examined. If Williams gets starched, some people are gonna be eating crow again!!!
Completely agree with this post. If his chin was glass he wouldn't have made it to the 4th round. However, he did get wobbled, so I can't count his chin as iron. Keith
Geez this glass jaw stuff is stupid, and most of the clowns that spend all this time talking about it are jokes. This is boxing and any fighter can be hurt at anytime vs any fighter. Only a dumbass that never put on a pair of gloves and took shots would spend time talking about this crap. I do notice that its the same freaking fat keybroad warriors that are always talking about itatsch
You dont have a bad chin unless you get rocked by fighters who dont have alot of power. for example kahn getting rocked by light punching limond, mundine getting koed by feather fisted mundine, or anyone who got knocked out by paulie malinaggi or juan diaz.. ect......
Zak, a P.H.D.= Piled High and Deep. Did you know that? You have a chin fetish and get clouded judgment from it. Same as Rico. The only thing you love as much as socialism is the sound of shattered glass!
rico, zakman, and possibly 46and0 are the same person. they all talk about nothing but glass jaws and british fighters, its not some crazy coincidence, its all the same person.
Hold it! Who's saying glass jaw? That's not clear yet. All I am saying is that his getting decked by a light-hitter raises QUESTIONS about his punch resistance. I don't quite get why this is so controversial, it's a reasonable thing to raise based on what happened.
This may come as a shock to you, but there are a ****-load of posters on ESB who know less about boxing than my Cocker Spaniel knows!
