PW's chin stood up very well last night as did Martinez's,i dont see the point of this thread...if he had been knocked out then maybe otherwise he took it and kept on fighting..

I think both Williams and Pavlik's chins are questionable to be perfectly honest

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Yeah, I know that, but I guess I try to think positively and hope that people will be reasonable.

Like I said, I am NOT saying Williams chin IS china, just that questions should be raised as a result of this fight.:patsch

Neither's chins are questionable in my opinion. Pavlik had a couple of flash knockdowns in his career but I for one think what really impresses me of KP is his recuperative powers. I dont know many boxers that could have got up after he was knocked down against taylor in there first fight and come back in the same round the way he did. KP fought Bernard Hopkins, who is not known as a KO artist but a lot of people fail to realize KP was taking CLEAR shots from a legitmate LHW and he did not go down, that should answer many questions.
As far as PW's, if anything he has a respectable chin and the reason I say that is he has NO BUSINESS over 154. If He wants to fight in multiple divisions, more power to him, but 147 and 154 SHOULD get him MANY fights throughout his career.
Both have DECENT chins, Pavliks in my opinion more solid, based on the Hopkins results.

With those skinny legs of his, I cant believe you guys are barely figuring this out. He is there to be dropped. Stopping him is a whole different dynamic. He is dangerous when hurt.

Punch resistance counts! What kept Chuvalo in the top ten for 12 years during a very good HW era? Chin, stamina, heart, courage, toughness, and little else.

Williams seems to be a tough kid, but we saw fantasy match ups pitting him against Hopkins, Abraham, Dawson, et al, and then we saw Sergio light his ass up. Could he take a shot like that from Pavlik, or even Zuniga? At this point we don't know.

I agree ,at those 2 weights he can be very dominant ...at higher weights he's taking the chance of a shorter career from the punishment.

He probably cant take a Pavlik punch. But I doubt his slow ass even lays a glove on him.

Because your act is tired. It's annoying.

So if Williams goes 5 years with out getting KO'd then he gets stopped you will always be "right".

    Really, Zakman, really?

So the fact that Williams has been in with other punchers like Margarito, Matthysse, and Phillips is suddenly thrown in the trash because he suffered 1 knockdown early in a fight? Are you really that narrow-minded when it comes to boxing?

Honestly, you'd have to know nothing about the sport to think that...especially considering he got up, finished the round and didn't look hurt the rest of the fight despite taking some extremely heavy leather.

Exactly!!!! At this point, it is CLEAR that questions SHOULD be raised about his ability to take a shot. How he answers these questions in future fights, and whether he is able to avoid getting knocked down or out again, will provide the answers!!

But to dispute that his chin is questionable at this point is absurd. Of course it is. It remains to be seen how these questions are answered.

    :good

And I don't think he was even hurt. The announcers made it sound like he was ready to go, but I thought he was mainly off balance from the shot.

Williams chin is GREAT!!! The guy put his head on a tee for fighters the unload on time and time again. If he anything less then a very good chin he would've been stopped by Matthysse.

Zakman -- Nice. Didn't know you had a Ph.D. Good job!

If Williams gets hit by a solid Pavlik right hand, he's toast. Chin is uncertain but as someone said previously, he has stick legs. That's an issue.
