Ok fine that is true. Now on to the other points. Chuck and Tito are ancient. So be it if they want to fight. Just don't expect any decent fan of MMA to think that it is a must have fight in any capacity. Dana will pimp Chuck and Tito for all their hype is worth. Not a main event fight for sure.
Chuck vs Tito is a crossroads fight and a classic MMA rivalry. Chuck seems a bit more shopworn than Tito at this point - so it should make for an interesting match. Why not have them on TUF? Tito vs Forest would make good coaches for a season - but that can always happen at a later date.
fights have to have worth. guys don't fight forever and every fight is legacy building. ali-frazier meant ALOT. a trilogy was to be settled. ali was the champ. it's totally different to this. if they were 1-1 i'd love to see it, even if they are shot. tito vs griffin is something i'd like to see. this fight is ufc trying to make money off of names. making the fight is one thing, making them coaches to build up some rivalry is bollocks. you could argue the ufc did this by making tito vs shamrcok 3 times. talk about flogging a dead horse. tito is chucks *****. even if tito wins, it highlights how far gone chuck is.
I'm going out on a limb, and say Chuck wins this. I won a bet over 5 years ago saying that this is a style match-up unfavorable to Ortiz. I still think it is. I just have very little interest in this being the choice of coaches for the next season of TUF. I'd rather Couture and Coleman. I would take Tank and Kimbo for that matter.
I dont think them being on TUF will be bad in some ways. Of course 1 is they arent putting a big fight on hold by doing TUF. Theres alot Tito and Chuck can offer young fighters that is proven by how successful they where in there respective seasons as coaches. I think Tito will be entertaining but Chuck is where it kinda kills it for me. I like Chuck Liddell he was/is the man and seems like a good man but hes super relaxed to the point of where he has the personality of a door knob. However then agian the one time I seen Chuck actually get pissed off was the post fight of Ortiz-Belfort when Tito called Chuck out. So maybe we can get some Shamrock type moments out of Chuck although I doubt we get to hear Tito called a monky agian :rofl
:good I'm glad for sure about a belt not being held up, Tito isn't the fighter he was and chuck isn't either so why not? Who else stands out as possible coaches.
Should be a great fight. Don't forget that Silva beat Rampage Jackson twice but lost the third fight. This could happen again, Tito is still fighting at an elite level and is a legit title contender. Chuck is always dangerous.
One of Chuck's favorite pastimes is doing a **** load of coke (lots of drinking too) and punching dudes in the arms at the clubs in front of his adoring fans and hoes.....
