I am not saying it is going to happen but there is a possibility. Pac's legacy has already been set but Mayweather's legacy is still being questioned.
chad dawson??? come on man..floyd legacy is set, pac is jus more cement, yall done made pac into a boxing god for beating the same people floyd beat, "oh he did it better" gettn knock out is gettin knocked out...after floyd destroys pac cant wait to see who the next boxing god the world creates to beat floyd...the greats only come once in a lifetime, in my lifetime money may is the one...
Oh come on, i can't stand Mr Mayweather. His public persona (real or not) is vile but there is no denying he's had a world class career. Sure, there are fighters he could have fought at welter but it looks like it's finally coming together and win lose or draw against Paquiao, Floyd can hold his head up high. To say he'd have to beat Dawson to match manny is nothing short of ridiculous. We are talking about a 5 weight world champion that at the age of 21 won the first of his titles down at Super Featherweight in only his 18th fight by stopping Hernandez. Let us also remember that these days, most will consider the WBC to be the most prominent belt and Floyd has held it in every division in which he has fought. Admittedly he has coasted at times through his career but there is no denying that in years to come Floyd Mayweather will be remembered as a fantastic boxer, I think this statement was proven in his 19 month absence from the sport in that fans actually began to miss him for both his ring craft and his verve and swagger outside the ring. Lately I have been reading articles stating that the likes of Ricky Hatton, Jermaine Taylor and Winky Wright can walk away from the sport knowing they have nothing to prove. if this is the case, then to suggest otherwise when speaking of Floyd Mayweather is way off the mark by anybodies estimations.
This content is protected "0" means "UNDEFEATED" - WBC WORLD CHAMP, 5 DIFF. WEIGHT CLASSES, LESS THAN 10 YEARS!! BEAT 5 FUTURE HALL OF FAMERS, AND IT WILL BE 7 OR 8 BEFORE HE RETIRES FOR GOOD - PAC, MOSLEY, AND ??? THATS CALLED LEGACY
*Shendao"...Mayweather and Pacquiao are both 5 weight world champions and unlike Pacquiao, Mayweather fought for the linear title(WCB) in every weight class, he never fought for a vacant title and never asked an opponent to come down in weight to fight him. If you want to talk about legacy that perhaps you should think about the fact the Manny has been beat 3 times (2KO'S), got outboxed twice by Juan Marquez and when he fights Mayweather at 147lbs is very likely to get outclassed and probably knocked out! Skills win fights!
Nice alias. Way to hide yr agenda! I cant be bothered explaining all the errors in that post when youre clearly a nut-hugging troll. But thanks for the laugh.
money never asked anybody to come down in weight to fight him, but he asked JMM to move up 2 weight classes to fight him then showed up 2 lbs overweight.
All fighters lose - well, most anyway. if Floyd loses it will just show that he lost to a better fighter at this point in his career. It won't do squat to his legacy or prove him to be a "non elite, great" fighter like so many on here and just salivating on the chance to predict.
His whole legacy is based around being undefeated. For me he is a great talent who has yet to meet his full potential. He should have been a contender for the greatest fighter of all time. But because he hasn't consistently faced the best available competition, his greatness is in question. Tiles in 5 weight classes is a great achievement but to be the best you need to fight the best.
floyd needs to win a title at middleweight to match what pac has done. pac won his first title at flyweight and is about to fight floyd. imagine calderon donaire fighting welters, exactly very difficult to believe.
I have a 0 against my name too, but that obviously doesn't mean anything. Losing to Pac will be bad for Floyd's legacy but beating him will be very good IMO. This is a really important fight in boxing history.
depends on the fight , if its close both guys come out looking good , If Pac blows May out it has to be suggested that maybe he has been a bit picky in the higher weights , If Floyd easily outboxes Manny , it suggests that Manny maybe was kept away from slick fighters. To be honest I see a close fight either way , both guys come out with heads held high and reputations intact !
It will be damaging for Mayweather`s legacy if he lost to Pacquiao, no doubt, he must win this fight to cement his place as the best fighter since Jones or even Whitaker. Same goes for Pac but it wont be as damaging if he loses, he has already did more than anyone expected.
When Floyd retires and the dust settles on his career he will be remembered as one of the greatest Super-Feathers ever. I think that will be his main legacy, rather than anything he did at the higher weights.
