Tough questions are meant to be asked and answered, and that's what makes boxing exciting. Who wins between Andre Ward and Lucian Bute? Please vote. :rofl

Not allowed. Hopefully there will be a more assertive ref to issue headbutt warnings.

I am surprised that not more Lucian Bute fans are out to defend him on this poll.

Bute would knock Ward out! I have zero doubt about it. Bute moves too much, is faster than Ward, more experince and Ward would have a terrible time landing his head butts on Bute. Bute is far superior to Ward any day. Ward will only fight in his home town though. Ward would never fight Bute. Ward would never allow Bute to fight in the tournament either.

Depends. Is Ward allowed over or under 25 clinches a round?

Excluding headbutts and clinching I would go with Bute. Same referee and in Oakland NO DOUBT Ward.

Like other have said, with an assertive ref who actually warns for clinching and headbutts, I don't think Ward is ready for Bute yet. Kessler he is definitely not. And damn, he KO'ed Andrade! Even without the ref, he won't be afraid to NOT fight a clean fight.

I did this thread about 2 weeks ago and Bute edged the Poll 42 to 36. This one looks pretty close too, talk about an even matchup! Im going with Ward though.

Bute doesn't handle slick fighters too well and id imagine him getting dumped on and schooled by Ward. Bute needs one dimensional C level fighters who come straight at him without much thought. He looks good against those simple fighters.

Bute is No.1 on Ring Magazine, BoxRec and for a lot of people who aren`t his fans.Of course is snot still undisputed.
But for those who have eyes to see, he is the king until The super Six will have a winner. If the winner will not be Ward , you have yourself an answer to the question.IF the winner is him will have a 50-50 chances match on MGM.
Ward can`t beat Bute right now if this is the question, olympic champion or not.

What makes you say that he can't handle slick fighters?
By the way, Andrade ain't no C level fighter. His only three losses are against Top supermiddleweights in Kessler and Bute(2x). He did KO Stieglitz in 8 rounds who is currently the WBO champion. Please don't diminish Bute's win by saying his oppenent was a C level fighter, Andrade will give trouble to anyone in the division. I even expect him to win against guys like Froch and your favorite fighter Allen Green.

People need to stop diminishing wins of fighters they don't like. Give the guys credit. Bute's win was incredible, especially because he KO Andrade, as Ward's victory was special as he defeated the no1 SMW in a shut out.

Stop being biased you'll loose a lot of credibility doing this. You can be a fan of a fighter without shitting on all the others of the division
