Serhio ain;t scared to trade, and somehow... I think he might have more of a hammer than you guys are giving him credit for. I don't think Pav can handle getting cracked by Sergio too many times. This fight would look like Shane-Margo.

Pavlik is a relentless warrior but, from what I've seen and I admit I have only seen a couple of Pavlik fights, his offense is somewhat limited in that I've only really seen him cause damage with his right hand. He throws some body shots in there as well but if Martinez is able to avoid the Pavlik 1-2, he could pretty much embarass Kelly.

Martinez's offense is varied and tricky and includes right hooks, 1-2's, lead lefts and a nice body attack with both hands. He also feints well and generally makes people very uncomfortable in there. His defensive ability and general agility and athleticism is also greatly superior to Pavlik's.

Being a southpaw, the key for Martinez will be dealing with Pavlik's money shot: the straight right, which is the punch southpaws fear the most. If Martinez makes Pavlik miss with his right as much as he made PW miss with his wild barrages and if he can take well the right hands from Pavlik that will inevitably land, he schools Pavlik.

Unfortunately, it is a real possibility at this point that Martinez may well dominate KP over the course of 12 rounds yet find himself screwed by the judges.

Pavlik is a MUCH bigger punch than Margarito, who stopped Sergio earlier in his career.

I think it'd be a great fight, but I havent seen anything that would make me pick Martinez over Pavlik yet. Hopkins hits plenty hard 20 pounds up, and it took him 11 rounds to seriously dent Kelly. Kid can take a punch.

i mean, Sergio's got power, no doubt about that.... in fact i'd even say he has good power regardless of what his KO ratio is, but i just dont see him as much of a finisher, and Pavliks got a good beard himself, i just cant see him putting him away

like you said about Shane-Margo, when he had Margo hurt he chased him down and put them bombs on him instantly, when Sergio had Paul and even Cintron he didn't go bombs away with both hands, i just dont think he got that killer instinct in him ya no?

aye cuzz, why bother mentioning that fight? that Martinez is dead, todays Martinez is a completely different guy, i'd say that much is glaringly obvious....

he was so ****in green when fight Marg, it would be senseless base another fighters win off of that loss

    I get your point...

Shane is probably a better finisher than Martiez, but at the same time Pound for Pound I think Margarito has a better beard than Pav.

Talk about a massive ****ing understatement. Mosley is a huge Welterweight who has laid out big LMWs with one punch. Martinez isn't special in terms of power at 154, yet he's going to physically dominate a giant Middleweight?

People are seriously overrating Sergio Martinez, he has a small reach, and although good technically, he still does have his flaws. He's hittable and he's not that quick. Pavlik will just overwhelm Martinez from sheer power and volume.

Martinez slick southpaw style would easily and i mean easily beat Pavlik. The reason Martinez had problems with Williams is cause Williams volume of punching in which Williams throws from every angles while Pavlik mostly throws 2 jabs and the straight right in which he mostly does and Pavlik does it in a robotic style. Yes every fights Pavlik fought at middleweight it was all by stoppage but he never fought a slicker faster southpaw fighter in the middleweight division before. I would even bet on Martinez to easily beat Pavlik.

Money talks... And if Pav has the nutz to face this guy (big if) then I would seriously place mine on Sergio.
