Just a thought but did Mitchell get a shot at Prescott with Warren hoping Mitchell would win to prevent Khan having to rematch him? No coincedence that Khan moved weight to avoid the punchers and elite fighters in LW (Velero,JMM,Funeka,) Now Mitchell has dealt with Prescott there isn't really the call for Khan rematch again. Top match making Frank...

Probably. Good promotion if you ask me. People now know Prescott can be outboxed and is a one-trick pony. In matching Mitchell with Prescott, Warren knew that a Mitchell win would mean two very important things:

1- He and Mitchell could capitalise on a name people know.
2- He knew that if Prescott were to lose, people would talk less about the Khan loss.

If none of the above worked out, I believe Warren also has some sort of options on Prescott. The scenarios were perfectly thought-out, IMO.

No doubt this is the result Warren was looking for but I think if Prescott would have won I do think Warren would have made the rematch.

Prescott's two fights after Khan both showed what he really has. Khan wouldn't stand infront of him like that again and surely Khan would do a more comprehensive job than Mitchell did.

I think Warren would have gone through with it had Prescott won, putting them on the same card it would have been unavoidable, surely.

P.s. I was delighted for Mitchell, given the step up in weight taking on a monster puncher who's best work you've seen first hand like that takes some balls

I think Warren has always saw Mitchell as a plan b if things go wrong with Khan type of thing. Khan will leave Warren guaranteed and Warren will start saying Mitchell is the better fighter and isnt chinny etc... I think this could get messy i.e hatton and warren situation...

    I'm not to sure myself.

Did Warren still have options on Prescott??? normally he signs you to fight his fighter and has options on you if you win. I know Arena Box said he never but he said he did. Maybe he saw the Vasquez fight and saw his shortcomings and thought it's now or never for Kevin and made the fight knowing if Kevin didn't win then he wasn't worth bother plus it made the PPV more enticing. Imo it was a good move. Plus he knew if Prescott won he could gain control of him and take him to a world title shot and build up a fight with Khan again.

I don't know. Mitchell has to step up and Khan has to rematch Prescott still.

Ive been on here for ages mate and really appreciate your input and respect your posts however your all wrong on this one, NO-ONE would pay £15 to watch prescott again ever!!! Khan has Hatton, JMM, Bradley, Urango all of which are either big fights/decent or big paydays. Prescott is high risk low reward and he wont get a shot unless he becomes a contender or champion. Warren just wanted the public to forget about the Khan loss to Prescott, and he has nearly succeeded...

This isnt gospel but the word is that Khan will sign fight by fight contracts, Just like Calzaghe did after Kessler. I actually feel sorry for warren as he has spent so much time and effort into khan. It was his baby just like Pac man is arums and tyson was kings. Khan is to make his own promotion company and work in conjunction with warren as to not **** him off and still get use of warrens contacts and experience... THS

I think that working with Arum in the future is a good move, Arum will want something else after Pac Man...

Will he have to deal with his current promoter again after he leaves...?:think

Amir Khan has to launch the product in the USA and smokin the boots off Salita is a great start for him...:good

I always knew this situation would arise with Khan and to be honest Warren should of learned from the Naz situation. Naz is similar to Khan he had an entourage and big dreams and left Warren and i see Khan doing the same. Khan Promotions.

x2, it was evident as soon as the match was made.

Khan won't fight Prescott ever again now.
