I just messed my wrist all up, jabbed at the same time as my sparring partner, clashed(a few times), = messed up wrist.. This was in my Reyes gloves.. Im not sure if this means Im not makign a tight enough fist, or if it the wrist support of the gloves, and my hands/wrists being fragile.. But anyway, I am sort of looking to get a new pair of gloves in the $70-$100 range with good wrist support, while not feeling like pillows. Recommendations? I was looking at the leather Protex 2 gloves and like them, does anyone have any experience with them? I attempted to keep going through it, but everytiem I threw my jab with anything behind it(whether it hit anything or not), the pain was sharp, I had to just stop.
Though Reyes gloves are good gloves, not that much wrist support. The protex 2 gloves don't offer that much wrist support so forget about those. You can try the Rival sparring gloves which offer very good wrist support, or the triumph united heatseekers (But the heatseekers are more like pillows)

The hook and loop version is a lot more, not on sale, I like lace up more anyway, the glove is the same, right? Any other suggestions?
I personally have the heatseekers so I can tell you the laces offer more wrist support. I've borrowed the rivals and they off pretty stiff padding, not as snug as the heatseekers but it's all based off of personal preference
Are these gloves going to be used for sparring? Or for the heavybag/training? I have Grants I use for sparring. and they have supreme wrist support however they are quite expensive. I have found that as far as wrist support goes lacups are generally much better than velcro ones. I've been looking at these from Fighting Sports that look pretty good. On title boxing they have them in" Lace-Up http://store.titleboxing.com/fighting-sports-tri-tech-lace-training-gloves.html loop around http://store.titleboxing.com/fighting-sports-tri-tech-hook-and-loop-training-gloves.html and then a pair that can be used for either cause it comes with a foldover leather flap http://store.titleboxing.com/fighting-sports-tri-tech-bag-sparring-gloves.html I would say it really depends on what your planning on using the gloves for...
I wouldn't suggest Fighting brand. I've have had several things of Title and they've broken down in one way or another after a month. Rivals are excellent gloves though. My trainer smacks my face with em. If you want more wrist support definetly get the lace-ups.
