Johnson isn't a bum. He has a good record and is very talented. I'm sure Klitschko will beat the **** out of Johnson, but he has to prove it wher it matters most, in the ring.
I wouldn't call Johnson a bum. The Ring ranks him at #10. Besides, Vitali just fought on Sept. 26th against Arreola. A lot of heavyweights, especially top heavyweights, wouldn't take a fight less than 3 months later. I think it's a good thing that Vitali is taking a fight so soon against a good, but not great heavyweight. Let the big fights happen next year. I would like to see Vitali fight Valuev and Haye. I want to see Wladimir get Haye first though. If there is anything left of Haye, then we can see Vitali beat him down.
I never said its a bum, but he's underserving, too green, and has absolutly no chance here, he don't belong in the ring with any Klitschko. Lack of power, of movment and with only his jab as a weapon, he is completly irrevelant. He's not even in the top 5 of any ABC organization. GOD, even young gun like Robert Helenius would destroy him. If you think Byrd was feather fisted, watch this bodybuilder fight...he make Byrd look like a ****ing monstrous puncher.
You call Gomez a bum and then say Virchis is a better opponent? Virchis and Dimetrenko are coming off of LOSSES. And Povetkin won't get into the ring with either brother.
Even if Gomez was a real good coke addict cruiser champ and he fought well vs Vitaly and beat Virchis, yes I say Virchis would be better than Johnson at this point.
Look at his resume, everytime he has fought a credible HW he has lost, Johnson fits nicely with Arreola, Peter, Williams etc.
Vitali is staying active, scratching another name off of the list, no one of any note is available. When the fight was first announced a few weeks after the Arreola fight I threw a little *****-fit, but the man is aging, gotta keep the ring rust off. Like I said before though, Kevin Johnson is gonna go up, take his whooping, quit after 8 or 9, go home...and he's be eatin Red Lobster every night for a whole month lmao. He should be thanking Vitali for even breakin bread with him
I have only seen his fights with Wills, Barnes, Smith, Seldon and Greer, and all I have seen is low hands, poor feet movement and position and arm punch. Fist time I have seen him I was like ''**** man, look at this guy, he must be a beast'' but after 768 jabs and a victory over Damian Wills, i've change my mind. I have not seen his fight vs Vargas and i don't know Vargas, maybe I'm wrong, and I hope so, this will only make the fight better for us.
Vitali suffered a serious shoulder injury in the Byrd fight (A fight he was comfortably winning). And anyone who watched Klitchsko's fight with Lewis and the injuries he suffered (Which required 100+ stitches) would never doubt his courage. But you do have a point, in that unless there has been signs during Johnson's undefeated career (And I must admit, I haven't seen too much of Johnson) that he will quit we really should not question his heart. Do I think Johnson will beat Vitali? No!!! I think Johnson will get knocked out/stopped but I expect him, whether he is deserving of his chance or not to put up a show! I guess he'd better, after all the **** he has talked!!.
