I was really surprised when I heard of his plan to fight at 154. I guess he can make the weight but what will it cost him in terms of power.

I reckon Mundine should be able to make the weight, but this time he'll have to work harder to make 154.

It's good the fight is at 154, because before knowing this, I didn't care 'two shits' about this fight.

I wonder if Mundine will show power at this weight, hopefully he can score a KO because he needs one to reclaim the boxing spotlight given Green's latest efforts.

Dumb move by Mundine. Even if he does make 154? So what? Bull**** title and against a no name opponent.

Mundine always did 168lbs pretty easy so with proper dieting 160lbs shouldn't be a problem........... however 154lbs is going to be tough but not unrealistic.

Hugh Bowman the jockey is 5'10 and rides at 53kgs :yep

And whats the answer if Hugh is asked to ride at 51kg???

Hugh is always around the same weight, save for time off with suspensions, injuries and holidays etc.

Mundine is 35 yrs old? and is asking his body to get down to the lightest weight he has been since he played football at 84kg.

I trained Kathy O'Hara in the gym yesterday mate. She could fight amateurs in two months. A natural. :good

    True.
Back in his league days he was playing at what...88 - 90 kgs or something, and even then he didn't have any fat.

I reckon the main reason he had stamina issues at the start of his boxing career is because he was still ad******g to competing at that weight, and ad******g to the training side of boxing too.

Mundine at 154 is gunna look like a concentration camp victim.

    edit: ***** = j u s t i n

    good old ESB censorship. ;)

Can't wait to see Mundine jump on the scales with an IV drip hanging off his arm.

Phil, any truth Khoder has requested the weigh in be held at St Vincents Hospital Outpatients Clinic?

    :lol::lol:

That reminds me of ChrisAus' theory...
He couldn't quite work out why boxers never drained a couple of litres of their blood prior to a weigh in and then get it pumped back in afterwards. :rofl

    Mundine will make 154lbs.

But, if it is as much of a problem as we suspect, it is far from desirable - having a bit of first hand experiance. I remember a day of 'testing' about a 4 days out from a fight. I fought at 81kg. I was 85kg with 7% body fat - not a great feeling knowing I had to get rid of 4kg and it wasn't going to be fat.

If you fight too light - EVERYTHING is affected. Notably your punch resistance; your chin (or possibly more accurately your legs) go. You cant wear shots aswell as you usually would and your ability to recover from good shots is not where it would be. Your punches also seem to lose snap as has been well said.

Your fitness is affected. But, I don't think this will affect choc as much; mainly because he we will probably only spend a week under 160lbs. And won't be trying to hold it there for weeks.

But on topic.. he'll make the weight. He may not be courageous but his business smart and wouldn't take fight if he couldn't make the weight. And he'll win the fight. But, it'll just make pretty ordinary viewing I suspect.

It's hard to say how much it will take out of him without working one on one with him, but if what I hear is correct then he would have no trouble making it.
The determining factor though is how he does it. If he plans on starving and wearing sweat suits then yes it will affect his strength and stamina. But there are other ways which would have hime coming through strong.

anthony mundine has just announced that he has managed to prise khoder nassers head from his ass. the resultant weight loss has enabled mundine to now compete at featherweight.

mundine is on medication to ward off any further invasion of his anus by the septic parasites, LUDS and ashley...
