I got a feeling that Dirrell will be looking for redemption and he will make his statement when he fights AA...AA just doesnt throw a lot for my liking...Dont get me wrong...AA is a damn good fighter but his activity rate will cause him to lose this one...Dirrell will not sit in front of him nor will he just throw jabs all night ( like Taylor) and get countered (again , like Taylor) Dirrell movement will keep AA frustrated causing AA to throw silly, unwarrented shots which he will get countered....Maybe I'm wrong but I just think Dirrell isnt getting the credit he deserves...He seems to be very underrated by some.
I dont see AA beating Dirrell at all. Im not rooting for Dirrell or anything, i just think he will win. Cant wait for the fight.
Yea I sense a bigger upset than Ward over Kessler...I wanna see Ward vs. Dirrell, that would be a good matchup
I could see him outboxing AA and then getting knocked out.... But I see AA winning as the upset...I consider Dirrell the favorite
You know what Rud? I have that feeling too. There are just too many factors to come up with a prediction yet, and I stopped predicting against Abraham after the 1st Miranda fight. Breaking down the fight & you cannot rule out Dirrell possibly schooling Abraham if he could be extremely fast, slick and stick&move all night. However, his balance looked suspect in the Froch fight, his chin is yet to be tested and I think his defense is far from perfect. And all of these will be tested, so he must come up with significant improvement. Of course he has a huge height and reach advantage and faster hands, on the other hand, Abraham isn't slow himself when he puts together punches, cuts down distance well and has long arms. Dirrell has a much better stamina to keep up a possibly working stuff for 12 rounds, but no one came though Abraham without significant damage so far, he's just so good delivering punches. Gevor looked the best up to the 11th round, yet 3 minutes later he became the youtube favorite of AA's career. It's just constant danger for 36 minutes, no room for errors or sloppy stuff. So Dirrell has many advantages, but he's gotta put a PERFECT plan together and come up with a masterpiece or at least be competitive and have faith in his judges lol. I agree that Andre is better than he showed in the Froch fight, and I had him winning anyway. Still AA is one of a kind, you don't go out and throw a million punches against him or do the stuff that worked against Froch. Arthur is showing good countering skills, punch estimation and strategic thinking. And to be honest, IMO that's the area (fight plan) where Dirrell is clearly behind, I see him as hugely gifted athlete with no master plan, "just" relying on incredible reflexes and athleticism which does the job most of the time. And which might not be enough in March. There's no bad fight in round2 either, and this will make me the most worried! :thumbsup
I think its conceivable that Dirrell could out box AA for 35:30 minutes. As we have seen with AA though is all he needs is a good 30secs to put someone down. I thought Taylor was fighting a smart fight and would have made it a tough decision up until he got floored. I don't think Taylor was exactly winning but he fought well enough for about 35:40 minutes to debate the outcome, but AA took things into his own hands with about 20sec left in the fight.
i have to go with AA , he finds a way to win , and that is the mark of a very good fighter , unlike froch who didnt know how to fight a speed guy , AA will allow dirrell to come to him a little , i can see another knockout , i have him and ward for the final
Where are they fighting? That could be crucial. I might put some money on Dirrell as I've got a fealing bookies will back Abraham heavily following his ko win.
What's funny is that it is a possiblity that Dirrell could beat Abraham, but you don't know what the **** you're talking about.
there are many questions that could be answered in this fight. I think it's a mistake to think Abraham is easy to outbox especially if he's at home. Also because he's so durable and strong Dirrell can't back him up even if he's doing more than against Froch, so he gotta use all his movement and try to get by AA's defense and get some punches in before moving away, because Abraham has those looping punches that can take you out if you're not carefull. If Dirrell can do this and control the range and keep up the pace he will outbox Abraham, but I he's gotta do alot more than he did against Froch cause Abraham got better defense and is smarter than Froch imo.
