How good a grappler is Roy Nelson?

    I am watching his fight vs Jeff Monson, only watched round 1 so far but Nelson has managed to pass Monsons gaurd twice and mount him.

    Bearing in mind Monson is a ADCC champion and an excellent grappler.

    He's good, don't let the belly fool you. I'd say he's at least as good as Mir skillwise(who's very overrated fyi)

    Extremely good, and it's all based on fundamentals. He won't ever really wow you with a special move, but he has good wrestling, excellent top control, passes well, and is more than adequate of his back.

    :good I watched that recently on here. Great post and it showed how good a grappler Nelson is. He is such a deceiving sod!! He looks like he should be absolute shite and in actual fact the guy is brilliant.
