Why on earth would Pavlik agree to 50/50 with Williams. 1, Pavlik is the champ / Williams is the challenger. 2, Williams/Martinez sold less than 3000 tickets / Pavlik can sell out Boardwalk Hall fighting my mother. 3, Historically Pavlik makes more fighting scrubs than PW makes fighting top guys. He made more for Gary freaking Lockett than Williams has ever made in any fight. Boxing is a business and fights need to make sense financially. I have no problem with Goosen wanting some up front money to make a deal with Pavlik. Considering the history, it's an appropriate request. Asking for 50/50 means they do not want to risk putting Paul in the ring with Kelly. After watching William/Martinez twice, I wouldn't put him in with Kelly either.
I agree with everything you said, except I don't think theyre afraid to put him in the ring with KP. They probably think they have more bargaining power than they actually do. I'll be disappointed if this fight doesnt get made....i was really looking forward to it.
