I find it strange to hear these statements that Arreola's weight doesn't affect his performance, like this guy in the interview suggested.

There is so much more to weight and health than the visible performance in the ring. If Arreola gets into the ring above 250 pounds, he probably enters camp above 280. This will seriously limit his ability to improve his skills. You can't teach someone to move really well when he is obese. Maybe Arreola can come up with good stamina on fight night, as he did against Vitali. But he will not learn new moves, imrpove his footwork, learn new counters etc. if he needs each training camp as a weightloss bootcamp. Hopkins kept learning new tricks and adapt to his age because he lived like a monk and stayed in shape year - round. The Klitschkos enter training camp in good shape and can refine their skills, Wlad's improvments with Manny would not be possible if he came into training camp at 300 pounds.

Arreola may have more potential than to be an exciting gatekeeper/contender but we may never see it actualized. He might need therapy for hsi eating disorder and he doesn't seem to be the kind of gyu who woul take such a step.

Its a shame, because he seems like an honest dude. I guess he is taking the whole situation for granted. It won't be there one day, and he is making sure that day comes sooner than it has too. I'm not saying he could be the best in the world, but why put self imposed limits on your own potential? I'm sure he works hard to get ready for a fight. No one becomes a world class fighter without being able to do the work, but have the discipline to stay in relatively good shape.

He doesn't give a toss, if he wanted to lose weight he easily he could, too busy stuffing himself with takeaways.

To be fair, everybody was quite shocked to hear Vitali would return only 2,5 month after his recent win. And Arreola, who was beaten to a pulp, returned even sooner, and Minto is no pushover, ask Krasniqi.

So with bruises on face and ego still hurting, credit to Arreola for returning so fast and making a statement. But he's gotta start getting into proper shape NOW, we forgive this one because he just lost his 0 badly and took a brave tune-up, but no excuses from now on.

"If I train, I'm hungry man." I think it was absolutely hilarious. Not even hiding behind excuses.

I never questioned Arreola's heart and will in the ring. But even if you fight like Joe Frazier, you still have to train like him too...

I always have utmost respect for anyone that gets in the ring, but that does not mean in all cases that I admire their commitment in training and lifestyle...Arreola just does not display the overall approach to a professional sport that is required to succeed at the top, it is a shame because despite what he appears to think about his own weight, it is detrimental to his performance and his ability to improve.

It's sad, but many amateur and non-competing sports enthusiasts show a greater commitment in terms of lifestyle, diet, long term training etc than people like Arreola do. It's just a shame that he does not sort this out and make the most of his talent. So many people would kill to be given the opportunities he has.

People ridiculed Britney Spears' weight because she looked like this...

People are way to lenient with Arreola. Professional athletes should be held to higher physical standards than singers.

Can you imagine the haters response if one of the Klitschko's came into camp seriously overweight like 90% of the current heavyweights seem to do.

Of course that will never happen, they stay in good shape year round...just a thought.

Does that mean that Britney gets props when she challenges for the Heavyweight title?

:rofl:rofl:roflNever like this *****. But I think this picture is her best. He actually look like a real woman there. Hollywood just wants all woman to look 15.

Arreola case is simple. He shouldn't even get the chance to fight Klitschko. His lack of discipline don't make any difference when fighting BUMS but to fight a dedicated athlete like the Klitschkos you need to be in great shape. The problem is THE LACK OF TALENT AND DEDICATED ATHLETES IN THE HEAVYWEIGHTS!!! Somebody has to fight!!
