    Did we really need to see DLH at Middleweight? He got a gift in the Sturm fight. He soiled himself after the body shot from Hopkins.

    I agree 100%. In fact it seems you read my mind. He took a 39-0 when he went for Joppy's belt. He should have pulled a RJJ when he beat Joppy and dropped back down to welter and take on the only guy left in Shane Mosely.
    Had he beaten Mosely, which would have been far more likely than beating Bhop and retired, his record would have been 41-0 and the resume:

    1.Mosely
    2.DLH
    3.Whitaker
    4.Vargas
    5.Reid (Olympic gold medallist)
    6.Campas (poor man's Chavez with a 56-0 record at the time)
    7.Camacho

    Not bad at all.

    I can't believe nobody has mentioned Meldrick Taylor after 3 pages of this thread. He was ruined after he moved up to fight Terry Norris. He got devastated and then dropped six of his last 14 fights after starting off at 29-1 before facing Norris.

    Look at Ezzard Charles, too. He was one of the best Light Heavyweights ever and just couldn't compete at heavyweight the same way. Michael Spinks. He actually had a decent run at heavyweight with a gift over Larry Holmes and then ran into the juggernaut that was a prime Michael Gerard Tyson. 91 seconds later he retired.

    pf recent memory, RJJ (he could've stayed and dominated lhw for a few more years) and Jirov as someone else mentioned. Jirov had no biz at hw and was soon semi retired after getting ko'd by past it michael moorer. (I wonder if adamk won't end up the same way if not carefully matched. he too is simply too small and not talented enough for the size differential at hw).

    Tito looked awfully comfortable against William Joppy. Hopkins is just on another level, regardless of weight.

    Yeah good shout , losing to Raheem was a pretty low point but then age was catching up with him by then too
