I'm lead to believe that DeGale is the biggest slapper in boxing history!

If anyone wants to prove me wrong by showing me some clips from other fighters who are worse from Youtube then go for it! but until then DeGale will be the biggest slapper in my book.

He makes Calzaghe look like Tyson when he throws his hooks and is in for a huge shock if he thinks he can get to a high level hitting like that.

He likes to dismiss Groves but if they fought now Groves would just walk through him like nothing!
I actually like DeGale but McDonnell needs to fix this problem fast!

Calzaghe mixed in a lot of hard shots too, plus threw 1000 per fight whereas DeGale is trying to counter so he definitely needs more meat in them.

Calzaghe still slapped better but at least he was an attacking fighter who came to smother his opponents with 1000 punches. If Degale wants to be a counter puncher then he'll have to put some meat in those punches to keep attacking fighters (of class) off him.

When he fought Morrison he threw like 4 left hooks one after the other without breaking them up. None were hurtful punches and neither were threw with any speed. Throwing 4 left hooks in 5 seconds against a decent fighter will result in him being dropped a'la Khan

Sorry got u muddled with someone else.

Although Calzaghe winged a lot of punches he could still band when he had to.

When he was younger he was a banger. No question.

Even robin Reid said after their fight 'he can punch'.

True, infact when his fights were on late night ITV back in the day., around the time he won the British Title, he was known as "Big Punching" Joe Calzaghe, then thanks to his hand injuries, he started his less force more volume style.

    Exactly.

Remember it took 10 fighters before someone made it out for round 3!

DeGale punching was laughable on Saturday.

The only way those feeble swings would do any damage is if there were a lady's hand bag on the end of them.

The guys a class act and will make the neccessary adjustments to his fight game.
He's on a learning curve at the moment and its a certainty he'll take the critisism on board and improve in his next outing.
    He's only had 5 fights.

Yeah it looked to me like he was trying out a completely different style to previous fights.

He's got a long way to go but far to early to tell.
