I want to study a fiighter that has my body size, sand my boxing strengths, any suggestions? Im about 6'1 155, muscular, with long arms, fast hands and a good hook and straight right. any help with be awesome as i would like to watch some youtube videos of fighters with the same build as me. thanks a lot
If you are advanced enough to have those strengths, then you should probably already have some sort of style that suits your body/fitness/etc. What does your coach say?
Mike McCallum. He's so all rounded that emulating him would basically mean you'd simply have to learn every aspect of boxing.
Thomas Hearns Sugar Ray Robinson Mike McCallum Sugar Ray Leonard Carlos Monzon Evander Holyfield ( great form )
How about Donald Curry, I was told by my coach to have a look at him and learn from his defence. kept it very tight, 400+ amateur fights and only losing about 5, sounds good!
I think the best be would probably be to settle on your strenghts and take what aspects you can use in your style
Well you have to give us more info..... Do you perfer do fight on the outside? The inside? Do you like to move with your feet or your head or do you just block? Do you like to lead or counter??? Do you exchange often??:huh
hey thanks for your help guys, i would say i have a paul williams build, but not so slender and skinny sand not with weirdly long arms. Im a outsise fighter for sure, i have pretty fast feet. so i like move around and jab a lot. I also like to lead, but im a a rookie in the sparring scene, only have sparring maybe 20 rounds. Im trying to work out my style, and learn everything i can. thanks
How are your reflexes and timing? How is your temperament? These matter too. Fast hands are great. Fast hands with no timing will get you counter punched. Getting punched is cool if you are one of those types of guys that thrives off of punishment. It will also get you brain damage. All things to consider... things to consider. You have told us much and nothing at the same time.
