Of course. I answered point one, when I said that Manny is a physical beast and that he's a great student. Think about it - which boxer in history has improved like Pacquiao? I look at the job done by Eddie Futch on Joe Frazier, who he made much more effective, as similar. I do think that the way Pacquiao has evolved under Roach, beats any boxers improvement I've ever seen. The point is, there's no boxer in the world, quite capable of learning like Pacquiao has. It is easier said than done any time a boxer is fighting another great. As long as it's possible though, thats all that matters. Of course he will. It's all he knows and Roger won't, and probably can't, teach Mayweather anything new.
I think Mayweather's shoulder roll is equal to Toney's and obviously Toney worked with Roach. During that time, Roach learned everything to learn about the defence from watching Archie Moore, to listening to what Toney knew, and plotting how to protect his fighter. He knew what were the dangerous styles and tactics for a fighter who uses the shoulder roll. I think if De La Hoya had stuck to the plan, he would of won. He was bigger but I don't think his use of that size was the reason it was close - I think it was the tactics Roach gave him. Had he stuck with it, like he admits he should, I think he would have won...probably 7-5 or wider.
do you really think manny will stick to his jab that much...i mean, his jab is used mostly to measure distance, not get inside (which is what i think is the effective way to beat mayweather).....i just see money may countering manny to death while trying to get in on his defense
Nah, I don't think his jab will be used too often. I think he'll use it a lot to throw feints with though. I see him jumping in, flicking his right and pulling it back, before using his straight left - His best weapon and the punch Mayweather has to be most aware of. I think the main thing for Pacquiao is to make sure his attack is fast. If he's in and out, like he us when he's at his best, he will leave Mayweather shocked. Mayweather has never fought an opponent like that and I don't think he'll adjust well. It should be good though. Wouldn't suprise me if we had a rematch. If Mayweather us winning easily, I expect him to lose a couple of rounds at the end to generate interest in a rematch.
Duran only beat SRL because SRL brawled with him and gave him ample opportunity to land. We all seen what happened in the rematch when SRL boxed and moved. PBF is not going to brawl with Pac so it has no chance of happening. The best Pac can hope for is to outwork PBF for a decision.
I agree that DLH vs PBF and Pac vs PBF are not the same. Pac isnt going to be jabbing and trying to outbox PBF because it will never work. He can try to use combinations and a high work rate to steal rounds but he aint knocking out PBF and he aint outboxing him at a slower pace.
You seen how frustrated Pac was with Cotto when he was running late in the fight. Only thing was that Cotto was running without throwing back because he was hurt and trying to avoid more punishment. PBF will back up and use movement but he will also be countering and he has great stamina and doesnt fade down the stretch like Cotto and DLH. I could see him frustrating the **** out of Pac.
Yes Pac will quit if Floyd run all night. I thought Pac will quit too when Cotto started running away in the second half of their fight :yep.. And if you think Pac will quit due to Floyd's punches, what "power" punches Floyd will throw that Cotto had not thrown to make him quit?
you might be on to something Pac looked visibly frutrated in the later rounds versus Cotto when Miguel was boxing......I just cant imagine Manny saying no mas though............he wont quit unless he can no longer continue.
It would be great to see a war.I think all the haters would be in for a suprise though because it aint that mayweather can`t ,he chooses not to.Leonard was young, still making his name and duran took advantage of his pride.Mayweather does`nt have to,but this is going to be a great fight because paquioa attacks more than duran did and floyd is not going to have any choise.can`t wait..
manny couldn't cut off the ring on a hurt miguel cotto, how's he gonna do it vs a prime floyd that hardly gets hit.....
I think he can.....but not sure if he will. PAC is a live dog in this fight and can beat Floyd if he has the right strategy and game plan. But I do see Floyd being a little too elusive and on the move to allow a sustained offensive attack.
