That is the fight Haye hangs his hat on everyday...what a bum that guy turned out to be...doesn't seem like a very impressive victory now, does it?

it would have been much more impressive to fight Cunningham or Adamek, in retrospect...but I guess that's David Haye's style...

He seems to be doing the same thing in the Heavyweight division: Fighting lesser opposition and talking as if he just beat the best in the world.

He is all talk...he makes Floyd Mayweather look like Manny Pac in terms of fighting the best opposition available.

link, the fight with Macca was a huge domestic showdown, the fights with Cunningwho and Adamek would have been nowhere near as big.

And he will fight a Klit next year, whats the problem? He pulled out because of Setanta going bust, he won a trinket and now he has a bargaining chip once he removes the mandatories. When did Hyae say Valuev was the best in the world....infact Im pretty sure everytime hes spoken hes mentioned that he has to beat the brothers.

    Fragomeni
    Bonin
    Mormeck (in France)
    Maccarinelli
    Barrett
    Valuev (in Germany)

All these guys were 'someone' until Haye showed up.

You might still get your wish with Adamek.

link, your jealousy is really shining through, just because the great US hope is a fat Arreola, who has achived much less than Haye and had 5 more fights!

Fragomeni: beat up by an old Erdei with 20lb weight disadvantage
Bonin: who ? look up his record and say that with a straight face again
Mormeck (in France): good fighter with health problems, retired immediately after the fight
Maccarinelli: beat up by unknowns Lebedev and Afolabi afterwards with no problem
Barrett: beat up by Wlad, Valuev, Mesi and Cliff Couser years ago, recently smoked by fat Solis in under 2 rounds, with a single punch
Valuev (in Germany): needed gifts against Donald, Ruiz and Holyfield, was beaten more convincingly by those than by Haye but got the nod by way of his promoters; bloodied and beaten up thoroughly by Larry Donald years before

All these guys were carefully chosen for being very beatable or complete noones when Haye showed up to get himself a name.

Reality hurts, avoid at all costs.

When your naked posterboy Doivit does it, it's cool, so witty, and "refreshing". When others return the favor and **** on him, you go "waaaaah you are not allowed to do that whaaaaaaaaa". :good

I'm afraid you've got your Haye-t tinted shades on there.

As I said, they were all someone UNTIL Haye came along. What they did next is irrelevant.

One can only battle wit with wit.

On that score you've rather let yourself down.

Bonin, Barrett, Fragomeni...these guys were someone?

Those fighters couldn't even beat Ray Austin. Haye was one the biggest critics when the destruction of Ray Austin happened...well it looks like if Haye gets past Ruiz, he'll have to fight big Ray, due to Ray Austin being a Don King fighter. Ray just keeps on winning and knocking out guys like Golata and Williamson.

I hope we get to see Adamek instead, he's a DK fighter as well.

It's going to be interesting to see how Haye fights those men...can't wait.

Yes, as relates to where Haye was AT THE TIME.

Agreed about Adamek. I'd love to see it down the line.

Jealousy? Dude, I actually view boxing through an unbiased scope compared to most you'll rap with on this forum...in fact, most don't like discussing topics with me because they don't like what I have to say. But, i am usually right when predicting what will happen.

Arreola showed a lot of heart and toughness in the ring against Vitali Klitschko...at least he showed up for the fight...

Maybe Haye is much smarter than we all realize...he's not ready for Vitali...if i were Haye, i would wait until the giant Ukrainian retired.

no shame in recognizing that Vitali is the man at Heavyweight right now.

In fact, instead of talking all kinds of jive about the Klitschkos, i would simply give them credit for being dominant Champions and wait until they retired, all the while Haye would be disposing contender after contender...padding his resume.

I have a feeling Haye might do just that.

Or maybe, just maybe, Haye had every intention of fighting a Klit, but when Setanta went bust (the only people paying him), he knew he was going to have to fight a Klit for free, so faked a back injury and went back to the drawing bored. Thats what I believe anyway.

But....either way, after only 3 fights at HW hes making quick inroads....we will know wether he was all mouth or all balls this time next year after he has disposed of Ruiz and the possible re-match with Valuev and he is then free to fight whoever he likes. Until then, we the fans, have to put up with bull****.

Those fights with the klitschkos didn't have to be for free...he is a self promoted fighter like the Klitschkos...he had the opportunity to make a lot of money on a co-promotion...that's what makes his negotiations with K2 suspect, is the fact that he wasn't willing to put up any of his own money to secure the venue or the promotion.

When K2 was burdened with the entire cost of the fight and promotion, they held all of the cards during the negotiations...

it seems as if haye has exchanged the K2 shackles for the Don King and Sauerland shackles...both promoters have options on his next 3 fights...not very different from the scenario he was complaining about when dealing with the klitschkos.

This is why a lot of boxing scribes believe that he had no intention of fighting the klitschkos this year. Had he taken the fights and won, he would be able to write his own ticket.

Not now...he has to defend his paper title against guys like Ruiz, Valuev, Austin, Adamek, and other horses in the King's stable.

Doesn't really make much sense now, does it?
