    Chuck Wepner :good

    Not the most "gifted" boxer you'll ever see but managed to take Ali into the 15th rnd and was the only boxer to ever knock Ali down while Ali was the Champ. Not bad braggin' rights in a bar room :yep

    Grady Brewer: fights anybody, anytime, any place. Got screwed more times than a $20 *****, and yet he stays in the game. Took zeros from 4 undefeated fighters when he was picked to make them look good. Is a card carrying member of the "who the **** needs that guy" club. 38 years old and fighting better than ever.

    No matter what the odds are against him the man always believes he can pull out the upset and often fights with his balls to the wall. That man has got an undeniable will that his skills unfortunately don't match.

    Wepner was very game, etc but to be fair to the champ, Wepner did NOT legitimtely knock Ali down...literally stepped on his foot as he threw a right hand to the body...I think Wepner himself would say he didnt "drop" Ali...

    That knock down has always been controversial and a lot of fans hold your opinion. I saw the fight many times on ESPN Classic and they had Wepner with Lou Duva and Bert Sugar who show the KD over and over in slow mo. All three said it was a legit KD and I agree with them. If you get a chance to watch it again you'll see Ali react as if the wind was knocked out of him. It was a pretty damn hard body shot. Credit to the Champ from recovering and continuing to give Wepner a boxing lesson :bbb:good

    Good to see others around here have seen that vid, truly unreal. I fell off the back of a London bus and dislocated mine and the pain was just immense. I can't imagine trying to fight with that much pain going on. He sure has bags of heart.

    If we're going to menton Wepner, we also have to include Chuvalo. That guy was ranked in the top 10 for about 12 years back when ratings meant something.

    Yeah I agree :deal Chuvalo was a better skilled boxer than Wepner IMO. Chuck looks like a bar room brawler at best yet managed to take probably the greatest HW ever into the 15th rnd. For a fighter that's "not that great" he gets my respect :good
