are there any people on here who felt they wrote khan off a bit early in his career, and who now think that khan is much better than they originally thought? i'm thinking that khan is definitely a better prospect than i originally thought. :think
Will not fight the tough fights that he's supposed to fight, at this stage of his career, he can't expect the big names till he's established as a world beater ... even Hatton fought and beat Kostya Tszyu ... I'm not a fan and I think he's shitty ... already looking to duck Maidana - nuff said
Feel the same. Think he got ability and I'd love to see him in good fights. But I feel like he'll be protected and put against carefully selected opposition and then annoyingly hyped like he was brilliant.
I feel he's a decent champ with a lot of future potential. Most boxers have "arrived" when they win a world title. The funny thing about Khan you don't get the feeling he's arrived at all, you get the feeling its just one of many. He's being groomed like Oscar was for mutiple titles and division climbing. I see all the potential for him but would like to see him vs Maidana next or even Ortiz. If he's the real deal then going by his skillset he should beat both. Both fighters would also reveal where Khan's chin is.
if you were impressed enough by his recent performance over salita, then you should be ashamed. until he fights someone who possesses a pulse and the ability to punch (even remotely powerful), then he shouldn't be earning any renewed appraisal.
Kotelnik beat the guy Khan supposed to be ducking (Maidana). Khan schooled Kotelnik, a top3 LWW. What is a real challenge? Pacquiao?
You're wasting your time, mate. The guys that are ready to jump on Khan for 'ducking' haven't watched enough boxing matches in their life (never mind of Khans) to make an intelligent debate.
I've always enjoyed watching Khan. He is got power, charisma, and his fights are exciting, and under Roach he continues to get better and improve.
Hatton fought and beat Kosta when Kosta was over the ****ing hill. If Khan did a similar thing, would you be praising him in the same way? I some how doubt you would. Furthermore, Hatton was at his peak when he did this, whereas Khan is 2/3 years away from his. What's even more funny, is that Hatton in his early career took a far more easier route than what Khan has done so far. Yet he didn't recieve the criticism Khan seems to recieving. If anyone should be blasted, it should be Warren, who's made a reputation for British fighters as being protected. Remember Khan is only 23 for **** sake, and is still a prospect in the making. From what we've seen of him so far, nothing tells us he's ready to take on the big boys yet. I don't see him hitting his peak until he's 25/26, and only then I'll start demanding him to be put in with the word class fighters. But until then, Khan deserves to be guided through levels of class appropriately.
