I guess you're used to some rough n' tumble because bare-knuckle boxing sure ain't no childs play.

Are you familiar with London Prize Rules? Read any manuals? The pikey slugfests that are still alive today lack much of the science and measured approach of the classical Bare-knuckle affairs from over 200 years ago.

Make sure you're both well, with some aids at hand and have done plenty of research on an artform which is miles away from just boxing without gloves.

If this is "just for fun", hey...it's your health, your choice...

Boxing is regulated and sanctioned under certain rules in modern times for a reason...if you understand and are willing to accept the potential consequences of your actions toward no end but to "try something new", well...consenting adults can't really be prohibited from doing something stupid, but if you explicitly ask for opinions don't be alarmed when told your plans are ill-advised.

Are you at least well-insured? :yep

You need somebody to explain how getting punched in the face with no padding/protection on is going to **** your face up?

Benefits are that it'll be over before either of you suffer too much brain trauma (as opposed to using gloves).

Drawbacks are that you'll probably end up with some scars and possibly eff up your hands. I've never BOXED bareknuckle, but I've got my fair share of facial scars from getting hit. I can't imagine doing it on purpose, I've never taken any big bareknuckled shots to the mouth, nose, eyes, or ears, but from the OK ones I've got hit with, I can imagine that if you get caught you're in for some plastic surgery.

But hey, you only live once, right? I imaging it'd be fun to tell my kids that me and my friends used to go out back and punch each others heads in just because we were tired of normal pastimes like drugs and alcohol...

Please post pictures or videos afterwards, so we can show others why it's generally a bad idea to do bare-knuckle boxing.
