Where do you rank Julio Cesar Chavez among the best?

    For the record, I voted for Top 50, but not Top 25. Not too many fighters these days can sport a 100+ professional record, and some of his wins were from some good fighters, although a few more big names would have pushed him up further in the rankings.

    I'm not realy commited to a all time pound for pound list
    My top 3 are 1. Pernell Whitaker 2. Benny Leonard 3. Ray Robinson. after that I'm not commited to anyone else. That being said If I were to make a list JC Chavez would most likly be in the top 25. 1. He is one of the very best ever at 130. He is a top 10 canadate for 135. Won a championship at 140 allthough I think he is overated at 140. He was also one of the best agresive style boxers with an underrated defensive style.

    Chavez cracks the top 10 in fact the last list i did i had him at 8 or 9.

    Slightly better. I have Leonard at 7, so it's neglible. Duran, and have at 12 I believe. He lost too many big fights for me to put him in the top 10.

    for me , julio is top 5 ! ... but ESB is a Gringo Forum .. so the top 5 must be ... SRR, Armstrong, Ali, Louis, etc etc etc etc .... jaja they even put chavez outside top 20 ... what an absolute subjective and racist bull**** ...

    i mean, i`m sure that if Chavez would have been American ... well... u guess

    Why? Because he's Mexican? :lol: I'm ****ing British for Christ sake.

    Julio Cesar Chavez was about as aesthetically pleasing as any fighter that ever lived in my judgment. It's the technically sound fighters that work methodically to head and body, putting punches together in clusters that mostly get my attention from the get-go. Despite all that, he doesn't have the resume to be in contention with the guys among the top 30 of all time. Truth be told, he's one of the greatest fighters that doesn't hold a win over a fellow all-time great. He rates highly based on his skill set, his consistency, and career achievements.
