As amazing as it is, in my time on ESB, this is probably the first time I've read anyone even mention O'Grady.

O'Grady, in my opinion, isn't really given full credit for his abilities..he is worthy of much more mentioning and consideration.

Holyfield vs Tyson II staredown, was the only time Mike Tyson ever shown...

    That he was mildly intimidated..!

    Foreman, Liston.

People always mention Tyson, but he only rarely got into the pre-fight staredown.

    Foreman, Liston, Hearns,

Ali wasnt so much intimidating the way those guys were but he had this look of utter confidence & arrogance as if the opponent should be thankful to even be in the same ring as him... that would sometimes get the opponent angry which is always good.

Not what you guys were looking for considering 90% of each boxing/MMA fans dislike each other sport but this was the best staredown Ive ever seen, both guys were masters at it.

Ps. I like both sports :D

He was also one of the best commentators...

I'm just curious if anybody thinks a fight is ever won, lost or really tipped one way or another during the face off. I find it hard to believe that these guys can really be intimidated. By now they know who they are, what they can do who they're in the ring with. I used to like the way Ali handled it, with humor. Biting his lip, mumbling or talking a streak of unintelligible ****. Back in the old days, in the classic days of the sport, did they really mug that much? Also of the greats, SRR, the Rock, Pep, Louis, LaMotta, did they bother with that part of the "fight"?

Tommy Hearns had a great staredown. This is a classic example before the fight with Benitez.

True, but they actually hated each other, for real, I should have mentioned that.

Joe Frazier gave George Foreman a pretty mean stare right before their first fight.

Tapia provided some good staredowns. He meant business in the unkindest, least stable way.
