Williams got a whole ****load of new fans with his last fight. It's not about race or skin color. I actually heard people talking about Williams/Martinez at work. It's about having a FAN FRIENDLY style. People want to be thrilled, they want to be on the edge of their seat. This is a fight, you know, people want blood. I like this video because its short and there is no audio. I think not having the audio captures the drama better, but it's the epitome of FAN FRIENDLY style. I know its a whole other boxer altogether, but a fight is like a story, it needs drama, it needs its characters to be vulnerable. Somebody mentioned Rocky 4, but take away the size and Floyd is much more like the Russian than he is like Rocky.

Shane Mosley is not loved by everyone. For example some here like UliUli and JR and other posters who are Mexican American have hated on Mosley for his alleged drug enhancement use and the controversial decision he got over Oscar, would they be as spiteful towards Shane if he were of Mexican descent?

Think about that.

I agree it is not a REAL war but it is more than a sport...people die in boxing too...I train a fighter who was in iraq twice and he says boxing is far harder and more nerveracking....boxing is more than a sport...it is not tennis or golf...u are getting punched repeatedly

 

what i mean is, he is an example of a black fighter who is loved by almost everyone. there is nothing that would suggest that a fighter is hated based on race. it's just the attitude of a person that people tends to dislike.

 

i thought he was using Sahane as an exaple of a black fighter that other than steriods issue, is very liked, humble and all that, but has never been really accepted as a superstar, and agreeing with you

 

Styles make fights. If you had seen Martinez before you'd know he throws less punches then Mayweather per round. Williams however wouldnt stop and with his sloppy defense Martinez was able to tee off. Similar example would be Floyd vs Jesus Chavez. Chavez wouldnt stop so it created an exciting fight. However when Floyd fights slow footed fighters like Oscar and Baldomir who he can easily pot shot and position, the fights arent going to be as exciting.

 

Of course, but read the context in which my post was made. The poster was suggesting we should support boxers of our own nation because it's like a war, and we wouldn't cheer for the opposing nation.

Floyd will once again beat the fighter who's bandwagon many fans have jumped on! After that, they will find someone else. Bandwagon Pacturds are the worst. Especially Mexican and American Pacturds.

Shane Mosley is one of the greatest American fighters to lace em up the last 10 years, yet he was the antagonist in his own state when he fought Margarito.

Mosleys nice humble attitude has not allowed him to sell tickets.

 

Floyd is not a good example of an american citizen.
